About

Rustic Industrial Lighting and furniture

Velorossa Design creates industrial designed furniture and lighting that evokes an emotional response. We seek to make our art expressive and functional. Velorossa Design is a husband and wife collaboration and they work together from concept and design to building and installation. We find inspiration in both nature and the industrialized world, and we hope to enhance the elements in other people's lives. We take pride in conservation, reusing every part possible. Virtually all parts come from the local community, from Nate's garage to the machine shop he uses to a couple heavy equipment repair establishment. All parts are assembled by hand, welded, wired and then tested.

Nate Fleming is an State of Oregon licensed electrician specializing in lighting. Throughout his electrical career he has worked on lights; from rewiring old fixtures as an apprentice to running the lighting crew on the multi-million dollar Apple's new server farm in Prineville OR.

Mandie is the artistic design behind our pieces, as well as the welder that puts much of it together. With our ever changing inventory of parts and supply she is always evolving and growing her perspective and loves seeing new life in things discarded.

In our projects Mandie carries the aesthetic eye for design, art and nature and Nate brings the techical expertise to build pieces that not only amaze and inspire but are state of the art in functionality and effeciency. With this unique collaboration we are able to balance art and function in new ways. We love what we do and hope you do too.
