About Velvetback
Light some incense. Take a bath. Connect with plants. You'll feel better.
Are you looking for spiritual tools and self-care rituals that help you connect to plants, the world, the wider universe, and ultimately your own beautiful self?
You've come to the right place.
By opening up to the magic and wisdom of plants, you’re opening the door to deeper learning, connection, and healing. This has been my experience as I build my own relationships with plants, and I want to help you feel supported as you experience your own blooming and unfurling.
So light some incense. Take a bath. Connect with plants. You'll feel better.

How Much Bath Salt Soak Do I Use Per Bath?
One 6oz. package is good for 1 -2 baths, depending on how strong of a bath you desire. If you want a really awesome, luxurious bath, with a long-lasting aromatherapy experience use the whole thing (that's the way we use them).
If you are a little sensitive to all things olfactory and get overwhelmed easily by scents, then we recommend splitting the package between two baths.
Of course, this is just a recommended starting point. Everyone is different, and we encourage you to find what works best for you.
How Do You Make Your Incense Cones?
We finely grind woods and resins, and mix them together with Makko* and a little bit of Gum Tragacanth** dissolved into hot water. This creates a dough that we then press into a handmade cone mold. The cones are then removed from the mold, and allowed to air-dry and cure for three days.
* Makko is the bark of the Machillus Thunbergii tree. It helps the incense burn evenly and smoothly, while adding no extra scent to the incense mixture. This allows the main wood note of the incense blend to really shine through.
** Tragacanth is a natural food-grade gum obtained from the dried sap of a legume. This is used as a binder to hold all the powdered woods and resins together.
