Announcement   I am a graphic designer, with a degree in Studio Art (emphasis in graphic design and minor in Art History) from the lovely Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. It was in my graphic design classes that I was first introduced to the beautiful art of making books. Ever since that first assignment, I've been in love, and hope you will be, too!

Velvet Hairpiece wishes to offer professional graphic design services to include anything between logos, postcards, brochures, web sites and beyond! If you need something designed, just convo me and I'll give you a quote, or just answer your question.

Oh my goodness! Where to start? Cara was so easy to work with and did a fantastic job of meeting me on my desired journal. She did a fantastic job on the finished products and I'm already enjoying them very much. Thank you so much!

The idea of Velvet Hairpiece began as a dream, no really, a dream I had and decided to adopt it as an alias. Sometimes I wonder if I should make up a story that's a little more interesting! :)

I've always been creative. From the time I could pick up a pair of scissors and thread a needle. I used scraps and pieces of felt to make little animals to play with. I painted, and drew, and colored, and cut, and stapled, and glued everything. Even now I go through phases of different mediums, they change with the seasons and with what I'm surrounded with. Oftentimes I find myself inspired by the overlooked, everyday senses.

I offer custom services, and items. I'm a graphic designer by trade and can do just about anything in that regard. I love challenges and troubleshooting. If I can't help you, I'll try to find someone who does.

I'm a very easy going person and I'm honest. I love pleasing people, and I'm always going to work with you on any situation. I check my email almost obsessively, so getting a hold of me is pretty simple.

Thanks for taking the time to read through all of this! You can visit my website if you'd like to see my portfolio and resume! www.velvethairpiece.com

Hope you have a great day!

Payment
I prefer Paypal, it's the simplest, easiest for everyone and it's instantaneous. I understand things happen or maybe you're untrusting of it and would prefer to send a money order, and that's fine, too, but that means that you'll have to wait longer to get your product. I would like to receive payment before I mail your item unless there are extenuating circumstances.

I ask that you please make your payments within three (3) business days. The earlier you pay for it, the earlier you'll receive it.
Shipping
I use USPS as a standard. I'll include insurance on these items so long as the cost of shipping and insurance does not exceed what you paid for shipping. Most of the time it should anyway. I'll accept upgraded shipping, expedited, or a different carrier but you'll be responsible for the cost.

I will ship your item as soon as possible. In most cases it will be same day or next day. Obviously I won't be able to ship on Sundays due to the post office being closed. If it is going to be longer than that I will let you know. Custom or made to order items do not apply to these rules. I will give you an estimate on how long it will take me to do whatever project you hired me for.

Also, if you're local and want to pick them up/meet me somewhere that can certainly be arranged as well!

I can also ship to a different address as a gift item. I can even gift wrap the item for a fee.

As a precaution to you, I ship to Paypal address, so please make sure that this address is accurate.

If you choose to go with something other than the standard USPS, please convo me/let me know at the time of sale. If I've already shipped the item, there's obviously nothing I can do to change it.

If I have overcharged you for shipping an item in the amount greater than $1 (One dollar) I will refund the difference to you via paypal.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I will get a quote from the post office/UPS/FEDEX on how much your item will be to ship. The standard rates listed under item do not apply to you.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you've paid for an item and need to cancel for some reason, you can do so only before I ship it. If I've already mailed it, it's yours.

And as far as refunds go, I don't really like them. Under extreme circumstances I may take an item back (it would have to be a pretty good reason, or some huge error on my part) but you will be in charge of paying for return shipping, plus a 15% fee. You will also not receive your refund until I get the item in perfect condition with no signs of wear.

On jewelry for sanitation reasons, there will be no returns.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you have a custom-made item, I prefer to have the payment in full before I begin making it, but I will accept 50% down, and the rest will be due upon completion and before the item is shipped. Thanks!

Currently I'm working on a line that will have a specific dollar amount, or a percentage of sales that will be donated to the WWF (World Wildlife Fund). The details and design are still being ironed out, but the plan is to have several products out by December 2009.

Thanks again for reading, and please convo me if you have any questions or just want to chat! :)
