About

Larp supplies by a pair of college students

Diana Vertein and Shelly Sonsalla began Versalla Larp Supplies and Eccentricities simply as a hobby. Diana enjoyed leatherwork, but needed to do something with all of the pouches and armor she loved to make. Shelly enjoyed making garb and collecting furs and skulls, but there is only so much of that one person can own. So they decided to see if some of the members of the larp they were involved in would be interested in purchasing these items from them. When they returned to college in the fall, they started their Etsy shop and began selling items to a larger group of customers. Despite a slow start, the shop soon took off and the two college students stayed busy selling larp supplies on Etsy during the school year then spending their weekends on the summer as vendors at the various (smaller) Wisconsin Renaissance Faires.

Recently, Diana and Shelly graduated from UW Stevens Point and Shelly continued onto graduate school. The shop is still going strong as a side business and helps to supplement their income during school. Once Shelly graduates, they hope to move back to the Baraboo area and attend faires in the surrounding states.

The shop carries a wide variety of items, hence the use of the term "Eccentricities" in its title. We sell anything that interests us and that we believe fellow larp, steampunk, SCA, and Renaissance Faire enthusiasts will enjoy.

Shop members

  • Shelly Sonsalla

    Owner, Photographer, Creator

I'm a student at University of Wisconsin-- Oshkosh, where I'm pursuing my Master's in Biology. I do most of the sewing and jewelry items when I'm not in class or working, as well as all of the administration aspects of the shop.

  • Diana Vertein

    Owner, Creator, Leatherworker

I'm the leatherworker for our shop. I make all of the leather goods, including the armor, pouches, and other accessories! I recently graduated from UW Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science. I enjoy making items for the shop when I'm not working.

  • Cinder

    Shop Mascot

Cinder spends most of her time laying in the way or sleeping on the couch. She's VERY helpful when she picks up anything left laying around and brings it to us. Her favorite things to carry around are Diana's wooden mallet and leather creaser.

  • Dovahkiin

    Shop Mascot

Dovahkiin is the smallest and grumpiest of the shop's mascots. Most of the time, he just lays in his crate and sleeps, but come sunset or sunrise, he's out exploring.

  • Mirajane

    Shop Mascot

Mirajane, or "Mira", is the newest member of the shop! She joined the team in September of 2016, and was a terrific greeter at the first event she ever attended with us. Mira is most often found getting into trouble and impeding productivity.

Welcome to Versalla Larp Supplies and Eccentricities!!

Although our shop was originally described as larp supplies and eccentricities, we have since expanded to much more than that. We sell items for Belegarth, SCA, Renaissance Fairs, and Steampunk as well---as well as items that don't fit into any of those categories, such as shell casings, video game and movie inspired items, and home decor items. Basically, we just sell a mix of whatever we think is cool and would like to share with others. We sell both handmade items and craft supplies.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you for visiting our shop!

Shipping
We will ship most items anywhere. If an item isn't listed as shipping to your country, please contact us and we will get the listing updated with international shipping costs or explain why it isn't able to be shipped internationally.

Unless otherwise stated in the listing, our items will generally be shipped as follows, unless you pay for a shipping upgrade:
For U.S:
Orders under 16 oz will likely be shipped via USPS First Class Mail. They will arrive in 2-5 days and will include a tracking number.
Orders over 16 oz will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. They will arrive in 1-3 days and will include a tracking number and $100 insurance.

For International Orders: Time and shipping method will depend on location. We are not to be held responsible for any unforeseen customs charges; those will be paid by the buyer. We also will not be held responsible if your item is stopped at customs; it is your job to check whether or not your item is allowed to be imported. If you wish to upgrade your shipping service for international orders, Priority Mail International is guaranteed to arrive within 6-10 days and Priority Mail International Express in 2-5 days.

If you wish for your order to be shipped a different method or would like added services such as signature confirmation or shipping insurance, please send us a message BEFORE you order so we can make the appropriate changes. We will change the listing to "Reserved" at the time of the message.

We are not responsible for packages that arrive damaged or as lost in shipment. As such, shipping insurance is recommended.

Gifts
We are more than happy to ship orders directly to gift recipients. Please include a message in the "Note to Seller" section that you would like the invoice/packing slip not to be included in the package.

For additional information, please contact us.
Additional policies and FAQs
We will offer a discount on bulk orders, particularly rabbit furs. We have many more rabbit furs in stock than are listed. If you would like more, please contact us. We will bundle your items into a single "Reserved" listing with the discounted price and the total shipping for all your purchases.

We now offer custom orders! To request a custom order, please message us or click the "Request Custom Order" button. From there, we will figure out what you would like, how much it'll cost, and when it will be done. We reserve the right to deny any custom order request due to our personal schedule and availability.
Deposits: Most custom orders will not require a deposit before we make it. If the item is highly customized (meaning we wouldn't be able to sell it if you decided you didn't want it) or expensive, then we will require a deposit before we start to make it. Otherwise we will make it then send you pictures before you commit to buying.
Any designs submitted to us for use on a custom product must be labelled as free for commercial use (we cannot make custom orders with trademarked designs, etc). Any designs created (by us or the customer) and used on a custom order are thereafter open for our use on future products.
