Love of Beer + Empty Bottles + Free Time = Beer Bottle Candles

I began cutting my empty glass bottles during my free time in college. It was a birthday and holiday filled time of the year featuring a dashingly handsome, cash strapped, and crafty young man in desperate need for some gifts. With plenty of empty bottles in my possession, I was left with a choice. I could return the bottles for the five cent deposit and hope to earn enough to buy all my friends and family gifts or get crafty and make some one of a kind items. It's the thought that counts after all, so I chose option two.

Those first few attempts at cutting bottles did not go so well, but with practice I was easily churning out unique drinking glasses, pots for plants, and candles. Needless to say, I was the hit of the holiday and birthday season that year. I continued my crafting mostly due to my hatred of the bottle return process and the abundance of free time that college students have.

Fast forward to nearly present day. I still craft with empty bottles on nights and weekends. I began selling my works to others (I still gift to family and friends) in hopes of spreading the love of unique recycled items.

I am dedicated to the highest quality craftsmanship and customer service experience. Every product from Very Good meets the rigorous standards instilled in me by a lifetime of living in the Heartland of America.

Additional policies and FAQs
Bird's Very Good Burning Tips:
Very Good recommends burning our candles for 3-4 hours each session to help with the "wax memory". Additionally, trim the wick before each burn. These two steps prevent wax from building up around the edges of the bottle.

Bird's Very Good Safety Information:
Candles should never be left unattended while burning. Burn on a flat, heat resistant surface away from things that can catch fire or people who are not familiar with fire safety or are pyromaniacs. Do not touch the melted wax. You will get burned. Very Good is not responsible for user misuse, negligence, or idiocy.

Bird's Very Good Bottles:
Our bottles are reusable glass containers. Once completely burned and cleaned, our bottles are great to use for drinking liquids or holding plants (did you not read our "About" section?). We worked hard sanding down the rim to the finest edge possible. Please reuse our bottles and you will get many thanks from us and your local landfill.
