A very attractive piece. Colors are brilliant! Excellent delivery and service!
Raised in the in the San Francisco Bay Area, I moved with my husband to Washington state more than 20 years ago. I began exploring Western Washington -- so many charming little towns -- and was amazed at the high level of creativity I found. After some time I began to realize that the environment here encourages creativity. Lots of art, crafting, gardening everywhere you go. I'm convinced that the beauty of Western Washington plays a big part in inspiring this trend. Also, the clouds in the winter and, yes, the rain, keeps us inside with time to create.
I retired from a career in education and social services in 2006. It was then that we moved to beautiful Whidbey Island and I had the time to take classes workshops and explore creating at a different level than ever before
I was visiting one of my three daughters, Vicki, in Southern California - in October, 2009 when she suggested that I try selling on ETSY. We set up the shop and had the "Grand Opening" on October 22. Initially I sold vintage items and my soldered glass charms/necklaces.
It went really well so I then started listing my altered Altoid mint tins. That same year I took some mosaic classes and workshops and added mosaics to the shop.
What I enjoy most about having my ETSY shop is that it provides an avenue for creativity - it is such a pleasure to be able to set up shop and share what I gather and make. Since childhood I've just loved "making stuff" and I still do. I'm always in perpetual motion...collecting elements that just might work, experimenting with new materials and often making a terrible mess!
Now my husband Darrell has also been making mosaic light switch plates and they have become very popular...in fact, he creates many of the switch plates that you we in the shop.
If you're ever in Washington state, you'll find our art at the The Lucky Dumpster in the small, historic destination town of Edison, Washington and other small shops! You'll find mosaic mirrors, bottles, shoes, light switch plates, soldered glass, Altered Altoid mint tins, vintage items and much more!
If you need to reach me my phone number is 360-720-2283.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my shop!
After a career in Education and Social Services I retired in 2006 and finally had the time to take some art classes and workshops. After completing my first mosaic mirror, I was hooked!
Darrell, husband and soul mate, retired journalist and administrator, now creates many of our mosaic light switch plate covers. He uses bright and soulful colors that add a sparkle and dimension to any room!
My daughter Vicki (Victoria) provided me with the incentive to open my ETSY shop and continues to encourage and promote our creations and "treasures" through facebook and other social media.
Charlotte focuses on creating mosaics, soldered glass jewelry, altered art and occasional vintage "finds". Darrell A.K.A. " the light switch plate guy", Charlotte's husband of many years, has recently discovered that he also is an artist. Our daughter, Vicki, maintains a Facebook fan club where you can find updates and specials.
