One of my hand painted vintage chairs at my new brick and mortar shop here in old town Oak Harbor.
Pictured here is some of the stained glass I've been cutting. Beautiful colors!
I finished two light switch plates using the hand cut stained glass strips.

ETSY Journey

Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I moved with my husband to Washington state more than 20 years ago. I began exploring Western Washington -- so many charming little towns -- and was amazed at the high level of creativity I found. After some time I began to realize that the environment here encourages creativity. Lots of art, crafting, gardening everywhere you go. I'm convinced that the beauty of Western Washington plays a big part in inspiring creativity. Also, the clouds in the winter and, yes, the rain, keeps us inside with time to create.

After retiring from a career in education and social services we moved to beautiful Whidbey Island and I had the time to take classes workshops and explore creating at a different level than ever before

I was visiting one of my three daughters, Vicki, in Southern California - in October, 2009 when she suggested that I try selling on ETSY. We set up the shop and had the "Grand Opening" on October 22. Initially I sold vintage items and my soldered glass charms/necklaces.

It went really well so I then started listing my altered Altoid mint tins. That same year I took some mosaic classes and workshops and added mosaics to the shop.

What I enjoy most about having my ETSY shop is that it provides an avenue for creativity - it is such a pleasure to share what I gather and make. Since childhood I've just loved "making stuff" and I still do. I'm always in perpetual motion...collecting elements that just might work, experimenting with new materials and often making a terrible mess!

Now my husband Darrell has also been making mosaic light switch plates and they have become very fact, he creates many of the switch plates that you see in the shop.

If you're ever in Washington state, you'll find our art at the The Lucky Dumpster in the small, historic destination town of Edison, Washington and at several art shows throughout the year.

If you need to reach me my phone number is 360-720-2283.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my shop!
