Announcement    I've had a busy summer, with fun buying trips, creating new androids, and revisiting some earlier pieces that I have reworked ( and sometimes completely redone) so that they please me more. I had an exciting sale of 6 pieces to a lovely woman in Qatar, who decorated her coffee shop with them! She sent me pictures, which was so kind of her. I always wonder where my 'friends' go to live. Most of my sales are in the US, but I have sent pieces to Singapore, France, Japan, Ireland, Australia and Canada also. I never dreamed that I would end up making and selling so many Android friends, but I can't stop! Thank goodness some of you buy them from me! Thank you, thank you thank you!

About

I make robots, people, animals, and rocket lamps out of vintage found objects

I wanted to make a truck for my grandson, and I had seen a found object piece on the internet. I've always shopped yard sales and thrift shops, so I just started keeping that project in mind and started collecting a box of parts. Then I made my first piece to justify the space I was taking up in my husband's shop. He helped me construct it, and it was FUN! I never stopped after that, and I enjoy every part of this process. My husband is an engineer and my technical advisor, but also has become a creative input as well. Unless I'm feeling cranky, then he steers clear of giving advice. Smart. He has graciously turned over most of his shop and tools to me, and taught me what I needed to know about constructing my "friends"

My partner is my unwaveringly patient and skilled husband, without whom none of these Android friends would be here. He shares his shop and his tools, and he steps in on all the tricky bits regarding construction and can find a solution to any problem.
