I was a Graphic Designer and Art Director with a love of all things beautiful. At the time I had very little appreciation for vintage anything. Newer, brighter and pricey appealed to my personality, back then. I wanted to be on the cutting edge of technology, trends and advertising design. But as I matured a bit, I had a child with a cleft lip and palate and began to see true beauty and true blessings. Life was not about perfection but appreciating uniqueness and differences.
I was fortunate enough to have four generations of women on my mothers side that were all super close. I cherish the moments and good laughs we shared and have been blessed by having acquired some of my families vintage belongings which launched my interest in antiques. Of course, I keep those most dear and now see the beauty in giving older forgotten treasures new life...by offering them to other family's through Etsy. The old things now seem like riches to me and the new things often shallow. Imperfections are part of life's perfection. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which limits my endurance. So now, I have found my home on Etsy and launched Vintage by VIOLA.

With every item I list, auction I attend, photograph I shoot and ad copy I write and off site storage unit visit....I hope to make you SMILE and connect with great vintage goodies that you can adopt. I enjoy shuffling inventory, bending to get the perfect photo, stuff boxes to come to your house and even write notes like this to you. Because there were many years that I had no outlet for my creativity and no strength to work effectively. I did not know for sure if I would ever find a place where I could use my creative talents again. Your positive feedback/reviews and stories are like medicine to me. So you, my "shopping buddies" are a big part of my success in life.
