What could be more fun than collecting antiques? Making it your Day Job!

I can't help myself--I love shopping for antiques and vintage items, especially jewelry. But I can't possibly keep it all, so I was overjoyed to find a venue to resell treasured items. Some items I keep and enjoy for a while, then sell. Others go directly into the shop.

I started selling on Etsy in 2009. In 2014, I transitioned to being a full-time reseller.

My favorite thing to buy is jewelry, especially costume jewelry from bygone eras and sterling silver Native American and Mexican pieces. But I also sell knick-knacks, scarves, and paper ephemera, primitives, boxes of every description, art glass, clothing, purses, primitives ... well, you name it.

My mother-in-law and sister-in-law are worse than me when it comes to being vintage shopaholics, so I also sell items on consignment for them, and for a few friends too.

If an intriguing item has a story to tell, all the better. One of the very best things about being a vintage reseller is researching an object to find out its history, which I pass on to the next buyer.

I am committed to the environment as well, and the "recycling" aspect of buying and selling vintage really appeals to me. I hate to see perfectly good items going into a landfill. I buy pre-owned for myself whenever possible, and almost all of my packaging is recycled. I reuse all kinds of boxes, and I have a dedicated group of friends and relatives who save boxes and packing materials for me.

I can't help myself, I just have to collect antiques and vintage. I never could pass up a flea market, garage sale or antiques mall. Selling my things is almost a little sad, but I have to move out the old to make room for more old!
