Announcement   Thank you for visiting Vintagewise ♥ Together this holiday season, let's give big by shopping small! For the entire month of December, 5% of each purchase will be given to help save Lovejoy Brook Farm, one of the last remaining small farms in the Green Mountains of Vermont ♥

https://www.gofundme.com/save-lovejoy-brook-farm

For more than 50 years, Lovejoy Brook Farm has been a labor of love for Lydia Ratcliff, a pioneer in the Farm to Table movement, now 83 years old and hoping to find a way for her small farm to survive through the winter and endure for future generations to enjoy.

I'm a thousand miles away and count myself lucky to live in a place where our local farm community is thriving, thanks to that vision Lydia had so many years ago and those who have helped carry it on. Each week, I visit our little Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery to pick up Happy Cow milk from our local creamery, farm fresh eggs from right up the road, locally grown produce, & more. It feels good to serve my family this food that is better for the environment, supportive to our local economy, and also more healthful and delicious. That's why this little farm matters to me. I want every community to have access to food that nourishes the body and soul, food that's produced in a humane and environmentally sustainable way. And of course, one of my greatest joys is finding the lovely bits of history and bringing them forward for another generation to enjoy ....and I think Miss Lydia, in her 1810 farm house, on her 225 acres, with her wonderful cacophony of cows, goats, chickens, sheep, and more, is a part of history worth preserving and one with even greater potential. I can't do much to help her on my own, but together I hope we can make a difference...and thank you, ever so much, for sharing the love ♥

Dear Maya, WOW! This hat is magnificent. I don't "do" hats, but this spoke to me, in part for its history, in part for its flair, in part for my fascination with all things equestrian. I absolutely love it and plan to find occasions to wear it -- often. Happy Birthday to me!

Very happy with my purchase! My vintage book was very nicely wrapped. It will be a nice display/collectors item amongst all my mermaid things. Thank you!

About

I somehow fell into this. I had no idea I would fall in love so quickly or so completely, but here I am, more than a decade since my first venture into vintage, and I still love every bit of it.

Oddly enough, history wasn't my favorite subject -- so dull having to memorize what war happened when, following a curriculum someone else deemed important. Now, I can't get enough of it. I love the parts I get to play...detective, scientist, explorer/adventurer, curator, appreciator, & preservationist. Each little object I find sends me down a rabbit hole through time, scouring antiquarian archives for clues & examining each piece with microscopic intensity until its secrets are revealed. Maybe I'm just the nose-in-a-book nerd I've always been, but I think this is great fun:)

There is so much beauty in the world. We come from a rich history of incredible artisans and talented craftspeople. I love finding these forgotten parts of history, the pieces worth preserving. And I love each and every one of you for giving me this grand adventure. Because I can seek & discover to my heart's content, send these little treasures off to their loving new homes, and then begin the adventure all over again. So thank you, from the bottom of my vintage-loving heart <3

Thank you for visiting Vintagewise ♥

I'm Maya, the finder, photographer, researcher, shipping engineer, etc...whatever you need here, I'm your go-to gal. It's never a dull moment, and I enjoy all of it, from finding great vintage to making sure you get your item quickly and nicely wrapped. I believe kindness is the best policy, and I never forget for a moment that without happy customers I wouldn't be able to do what I love.

Payment
I accept Paypal, credit cards, Etsy gift cards, money orders, or personal checks (items are mailed once payment clears). If you find something you love but need a little more time to pay, I'm happy to reserve items up to one week; if you need more time, layaway/payment plans are available for any purchase over $100. The first paid installment holds the item and the remaining payments can then be split over the following 1-2 months, whichever is most convenient for you. Please convo if you'd like to set up a payment plan for an order.
Shipping
I wrap with extra care, using recycled/recyclable materials when possible, and bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc -- whatever is necessary to get your item to you safely (and attractively -- I like it to look pretty too!).

The shipping cost for most items is based on the boxed weight, although if you'd like to save a little money on the shipping, I'm happy to send nonbreakable items in a polybag mailer at your request. I ship as quickly as possible, so please be sure to request this prior to purchase or immediately afterwards.

GIFT WRAPPING
Complimentary gift wrap is available upon request...just let me know the occasion, what to include on the gift note, any special requests, etc. & I'll custom tailor extra lovely wrapping, all for free ♥

SHIPPING OPTIONS & TRANSIT TIMES
I ship via the US Postal Service and provide insurance, online tracking, and/or delivery confirmation for all items sent within the U.S.

All orders are shipped within 2 business days, most times within 1 day, and you'll receive an email with the shipping/tracking info and estimated arrival date.

At check-out, you'll choose your preferred shipping method, so here are the average transit times for each option:

Within the US:
Media Mail (for books & LPs): 2-9 business days
First Class: 2-5 business days
Priority Mail: 2-4 business days
Parcel Select: 2-9 business days
Priority Express: 1-2 business days

Outside the US:
USPS First Class International: 2-3 weeks delivery on average (sometimes more or less depending on Customs processing)
Priority International: 6-10 business days
Priority Express: 3-5 business days

For international buyers, Insurance and Delivery Confirmation are provided at no extra cost for First Class shipments to:

Australia     Hungary        Netherlands          Turkey
Belgium      Israel              New Zealand        United Kingdom & Northern Ireland
Canada       Latvia             Norway
Croatia        Lebanon        Slovak Republic
Estonia        Lithuania       Singapore
Finland        Malaysia        Spain
Germany     Malta             Switzerland

If your country isn't listed above, USPS First Class shipping (the cheapest rate) is available as long as your package is insurable, but if you want international tracking, please choose the Priority or Express option.

Please know by law I cannot mark your item as a gift on the Customs form...I mark it as 'other' or 'merchandise', and I write the wholesale price as the value of the item. Buyers are responsible for any taxes or fees that may be added on by your local Customs department, and I reserve the right to cancel a sale if you purchase an item that has been prohibited or restricted for import by your local Custom's office.
Refunds and Exchanges
I accept returns or exchanges for any reason, as long as the item is mailed back in the original, unused condition within one week of receipt. Shipping costs to and from aren't refundable unless I've made a mistake in the listing, and if that ever happens, I'll reimburse you for the shipping cost plus the full purchase price as soon as I've received the item. Return items purchased via layway or payment plans will be charged a 20% restocking fee.
Additional policies and FAQs
Actual measurements are provided on all items, and for garments, each piece is measured flat and doubled where appropriate (chest, waist, & hips). Please note these are measurements of the garment and not necessarily the size it will best fit, so please remember to allow a little room for breathing and ease of fit.

If you're new to buying vintage, please remember these items have lived a past life -- that's part of their allure, and minor signs of age/wear are to be expected. All items are stored in a smoke-free, climate controlled environment, and I don't purchase or sell items with icky smoke odors (nobody wants stinky vintage!).

Here is my condition rating guideline:
♥ (Mint Condition) As close to "new" as possible for its age, no problems or obvious signs of use. Will usually have the original box or retail tags attached.
♥ (Excellent Condition) Slight wear as would be expected from occasional use. Any problems/wear are not easily visible.
♥ (Very Good) Normal wear expected for age. May have light soiling or visible imperfections, but certainly nothing major or highly obvious.
♥ (Good ) An item that was used often, but not abused, and shows more noticeable wear.

Of course, grading vintage is subjective, so if there's ever a misunderstanding and the item you receive is not as expected, please let me know so I can resolve it to your satisfaction. And remember too, I accept returns even if I haven't made a mistake...if something doesn't fit, if it's not the exact color you wanted -- whatever the reason, returns are never a problem. My goal is for you to love your Vintagewise find, and I truly appreciate your business ♥
