I cannot keep every beautiful vintage item that I find, much to my dismay, and that is why I opened my Etsy shop. This way I can keep these precious objects just for a little while, until I can find a forever home for them.

I began collecting things as a child and was fascinated by old objects that held some secrets of their past lives. That fascination has only gotten stronger over the years and I love to decorate with these items, surrounding myself with what I find pleasing to my eye.

When my old house could not hold anymore, I decided that it was time to start selling the things that I could live without. It was very satisfying to find others who loved these items enough to want to buy them and I knew that they were going to a good home. I then realized that I could shop for new, old things and make a business out of something that I love and so I began to sell on Etsy in 2008. It has been a great experience and I have gotten to know a lot of wonderful, like-minded people.

I find myself drawn to antique paper items; perhaps because they were never meant to last which makes them seem more precious. I am also in love with the 1920's and am always looking for antique candy boxes, magazines and boudoir items from that period. Holiday items, specifically Valentine's Day and Easter are my specialty and I always have my shop loaded with beautiful and sometimes kitschy holiday toys and treasures. I only sell what I love which makes this business fun for me and I hope that is reflected in my little shop. Thank you for visiting Songbird Salvation!
