Announcement My journey brought me here, hand making all the items you see here. I concentrate on bridal hair accessories, using vintage settings where I can and breathing new life into beautiful vintage pearls by re-stringing them onto silk thread. But please check out my Sale section for other jewellery and take a look at my sold items for ideas of items you might wish to request. I only list items that are already created and ready to dispatch and I only make one in each style unless you commission more. Please see my shop policies for information about non-returnable items.

Very lovely and just as I hoped, the photographs were very accurate. The necklace was exactly as described. It arrived very quickly and was beautifully packaged. I am very happy :-)
Boxes full of Violet Sparks
Under my bed, there are boxes and boxes filled with jewellery, tiaras and fascinators - too many to list on Etsy but I try to keep my shop full and add new items regularly.
The boxes under the bed are the result of what can only be described as an addiction to jewellery making that started when a close friend showed me how to make a pair of earrnigs, then bought me my first set of tools and gave me some beads from her stash. To say I am hooked is an understatement. But I think the reason is the deep sense of satisfaction I get when I create something new. I love all my creations and run out of words to describe them as I truly believe they are all far more lovely than the photos show them to be. I sometimes just lay the new item on my dresser, so that I can see it when I wake, then again before I go to bed. I love taking photos and trying my best to show all the angles for each piece. I sometimes wish I could show more than 5 pics.
When my jewellery stash started to grow, I was so glad to discover Etsy, but my first challenge was to come up with a name. A lot of my materials sparkle, especially the Swarovski crystals I use in the tiaras. The lights they give off trully are violet. That set me thinking and then I reaslised, it couldn't be more obvious. My maiden name is Spark and my mother was called Violet - a name I love. What better than to name my shop after my lovely, loving mother, and at the same time, reflect what my jewellery is all about. So now I happily make new items and try to list at least one thing a week, the rest of the stash making occassional appearances at small craft fairs or house parties, when archery competitions allow me time.
My 'studio' consists of a lap tray, filled with all I need for the current project, a small box containing 'under development' projects and a small cupboard packed to the gills with all manner of beads, stringing materials, wire etc etc. Yet still, whenever I sell an item, I buy more, never wanting to have a lack of selection.
Another of my favourite activities is to browse around flea markets and antique and collectors fairs. Here I almost always make a purchase - a lovely sparkling vintage brooch or necklace that has the potential to make a one of a kind bridal accessory. The challenge is then to make this new purchase into something unique and I always feel I have achieved this, otherwise the item doesn't go on sale.
As you can imagine, because both archery and jewellery making feed my soul, I am uplifted, grateful for my surroundings, my beautiful family and friends, and totally at peace.
Owner, Designer, Maker, Sole And Soul Of My Shop
I grew up in a small coal mining community in the North of England but now, with my body ageing and my mind still young, I love my little home in the valley of rolling hills, with stunning long distance views of fields, trees and sheep, in Lancashire.
Etsy has recently introduced the ability for shops to list items for sale in their own domestic currency and I decided to take up the option to list my jewellery prices in GB Pounds Sterling.
On each item listing page, beneath my published price in Pounds, you should see an approximate price for the item, in your own chosen display currency. If you want to change the currency displayed, there's a link to do so at the bottom of every page.
Choosing to list in Sterling allows me to keep prices constant and consistent across all selling venues, which is fairer to both myself and to buyers, when eliminating the regular and unpredictable fluctuations in exchange rates between Sterling and US dollars.
When checking out through Etsy you will continue to see the price in GB Pounds Sterling, with your local currency approximation close by. Once logged in to PayPal to complete the transaction, you will pay in your own currency - PayPal will take care of that transaction and currency conversion for you - you will pay in your own local currency and PayPal will pay me for the item in Sterling. You will pay very close to the approximated Etsy price, as they use PayPal's own conversion rates to give you that figure. There are no additional fees on Etsy or PayPal added to that price for the currency exchange.
If you're unsure of anything, please feel free to contact me for assistance before making your purchase and I will work with you to make the transaction as smooth as possible. Please see Etsy's help page for how to make a purchase:http://help.etsy.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/339/kw/
Accepted payment methods
Payment is due at the time of purchase and should be made within three days.
To avoid any delay in receiving your items, please check that both your Paypal and Etsy address are the same.
If you don't have a Paypal account, don’t worry! Just click the Paypal button when you go through the checkout and look for the link to pay with your credit card. If you get stuck, go here for help:
If for any reason you need to cancel an order then message me and I'll see what I can do, but it will depend upon how long ago the item was ordered and whether it has already been dispatched.
Items are sent using standard postal services, but if you require additional insurance or a faster, tracked or guaranteed service, please contact me before purchase for a new price quotation and revised custom listing. Insurance is recommended for higher value items as I cannot be held responsible for non-receipt.
All jewellery items are supplied with organza bags unless otherwise stated. Heavier presentation boxes of excellent quality are available but this would entail additional postage costs. Please contact me before making a purchase if you require one of these presentation boxes and I will let you know what the additional cost will be.
I pack with great care and external packaging should more than adequately protect the item and I expect them to reach you in perfect condition. In the interests of preventing unnecessary wastage, external packaging materials are re-used where possible.
You will be advised when the item is dispatched and I always obtain proof of posting. But once the package is within the postal service, it is wholly beyond my control and the time it will take to arrive can only be estimated. The Royal Mail require 15 working days (3 weeks) before a UK item can be queried, longer for overseas. If an item is required in a time-sensitive manner, please contact me before buying to discuss delivery options.
Please contact me if you have not received your goods after 2 weeks (for UK orders), or after 3 weeks (for international orders).
International buyers are responsible for any taxes or duties due on the item as it passes through customs. This is a legal requirement and it is the buyer's responsibility to pay any amount owing.
Usually, the rules simply state a price limit on international purchases, so if you spend below the specified amount, custom fees will not be charged.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will then usually offer to mend or replace the item, or offer a refund, depending on the circumstances.
There will be no postage fees for a replacement to be sent to you This will be sent once I have received the damaged item back from you.
In the interests of hygiene, I do not allow refund or exchange for hair accessories and pierced earrings, if you have simply changed your mind about an item. If you have a problem, or wish to return an item for any reason, please contact me to discuss this but do not return items without discussing it first as this may result in additional shipping charges being incurred unnecessarily. Where an item is returned with my agreement and the item is not faulty, the return postage cost will be paid by the purchaser. Please tell me within 48 hours of receiving your item, if you wish to return it and once a return is agreed, please return it within another 48 hours. I will have to put the item back up for sale and will need to do so quickly, otherwise I may be incurring additional Etsy fees. Items to be returned must be in perfect condition and this will include the boxes supplied with the item.
Please see notes below regarding care of my hand-made Jewellery Items.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please feel free to contact me to discuss any custom orders or ideas you have. If I can accommodate your requirements I will do so, but please bear in mind that I will have to firstly try to obtain the correct materials (unless I already have them) so additional ‘bespoke’ items may take a while longer to despatch to you.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING POINTS TOWARDS CARE FOR YOUR JEWELLERY
This is hand made costume jewellery. Please be careful not to apply any perfume, hairspray or other lacquers directly onto the jewellery as this may corrode the surface or cause colour transfer.
Please do not store jewellery in direct sunlight as this may cause fading.
Please do not leave items of jewellery on whilst bathing or swimming - again the plated surface will erode very quickly if you do.
Whilst I aim to capture the true colour of each item and represent it as accurately as possible, please bear in mind that individual monitors may vary in how they display colours.
Above all, I want my customers to be happy with their purchase. If there is anything further you wish to know, please contact me and I will do my very best to assist you in your requirement.
