I love Misha and her friends! The colors are so cheerful and great details, even the smaller ones! I hope she shares her fish...

What a wonderful piece. Ms. Strauss is a tremendously expressive artist.
Every portrait is a self portrait. - Oscar Wilde
A self-taught painter with a background in Philosophy, Vivienne Strauss works predominantly in oil and watercolor, her paintings often migrating around the humor of being human – shared dejection, things left unsaid, false arrogance, disbelief, inspired irony. She is an observer and chronicler, in the actual world in which she exists and in the world of characters she creates, exposing, with precise wit, the subterranean elements lying in wait beneath the deceptively quotidian.
With a ceaseless affection for all animals most everywhere, Strauss is an admirer of classic films and literature, namely Dorothy Parker and John Cheever, and engages in vintage spelunking with a particular affinity for old photographs, timeless typography, and sartorial styles.
Her work has been in several publications, including EdgyCute from Neo-Pop to Low Brow and Back Again (Harry Saylor) and Indie Craft (Jo Waterhouse). On occasion, she works in collage and her cut-paper, pop portrait collages can be seen both on the cover of Lea Godard’s published compilation of short stories, Femmes Contre Nature, Ray Parnac’s Croque-Monsieur, and on Vogue photographer Tim Walker’s web site. Her collage work was featured in The Guardian in 2016.

I am inspired by so much. When I'm not reading, I'm either painting or sleeping.
