Fun Vinyl Wall Decals

After seeing a demonstration of home decor vinyl for the first time, I was hooked. What FUN to add beautiful and personalized wall art without the work, expense and permanency of tedious hand-painting.
My wall decal vinyl is so thin it looks painted right on your wall. A quick and inexpensive way to add a designer touch to any room.

Frequently asked questions
WALL DECAL APPLICATION WARNINGS & TIPS…

Sticky Situations: Try your test decal first!
• Problem Wall Paints*: Decals occasionally won't stick well to formulas like "Paint & Primer in One" and "0-VOC" paints.
• Rough Walls: Vinyl decals stick to some, but not others.

DO NOT APPLY…
• to fresh paint! Wait at least 3 weeks
• at temperatures below 56 degrees
• to a damp surface (moister after is fine)
• damaged walls with loose paint
• For best results, apply decals within 6 months of purchase.

*TIP: For a hard to stick to surface - this often works!
Apply the decal to the wall but do NOT remove the top layer of tape... leave it on for at least 24 hours to give the vinyl adhesive a chance to 'cure', then carefully remove the top layer of tape.

WHAT KIND OF VINYL WALL DECALS DO YOU MAKE and HOW DO YOU MAKE THEM?

~ SHORT ANSWER: Solid-Color Vinyl (not printed). Hand-made ~

I make each decal from self-adhesive, home decor vinyl in 39 beautiful matte finish colors. Removable, but not reusable.

There are many other ‘types’ of decals such as printed, or cut from other materials. I only use solid color vinyl.

My decals have 3 layers like a sandwich… bottom paper backing, center adhesive vinyl, top transfer tape.
I cut my original design into a solid sheet of rolled vinyl with a special cutter/plotter. By hand I remove all the bits that are not part of the design -- your surface or wall will show through those areas. I apply transfer tape (similar to masking tape) that will hold all the pieces while you apply the decal to your surface.

ARE WALL DECALS HARD TO APPLY and WHERE CAN I USE THEM?

~ SHORT ANSWER: No; Indoors & Outdoors ~

If your surface and other conditions are suitable, they are not hard to apply. However, for larger decals I recommend an extra pair of hands.

Here's a quick overview of application to painted walls, sealed wood, glass, mirrors, electronics, appliances, even cars.

Determine decal position, remove backing paper, stick to surface, remove top transfer tape
For multi-color designs, each color is a separate decal that is applied (by you) layer on layer.

Temperature should be above 56 degrees fahrenheit. Surface must be dry when you apply, but they withstand water very well. I’ve had them on my car for over 4 years!

HOW DO I MATCH YOUR WALL DECAL COLORS WITH MY ROOM COLORS?

~ SHORT ANSWER: Purchase my samples package. ~

Image #2 in each listing is my color chart with 39 color options that I have optimized for online viewing. Unfortunately, every monitor and device displays colors differently and may not exactly match the actual vinyl color.

BEST ACTION: Purchase my Samples listing first! You get up to 6 swatches of the actual vinyl plus I throw in a variety of small decals AND a coupon code for your next purchase. Get it from my other Decal Shop here… www.etsy.com/listing/109621766/sample-color-swatches.

ARE YOUR WALL DECALS & VINYL CHALKBOARDS REMOVABLE AND REUSABLE?

~ SHORT ANSWER: Removable not Reusable ~

My decals and chalkboards remove cleanly from most surfaces.
However because my decal vinyl is so thin (they look painted on your wall!) it stretches and distorts when removed so they are not reusable.
If care is taken, simple shaped vinyl chalkboards can be removed and reused, but I don’t really recommend it.

Although my products are designed to be removable and should not cause damage on properly painted and sealed surfaces, since I have no control over what you apply them to, I can not be held responsible for any damage that they might cause.

WHAT ARE VINYL CHALKBOARDS AND LABELS?

~ SHORT ANSWER: Self-adhesive vinyl with a chalkboard textured surface ~

Vinyl Chalkboards for Walls:
No holes in your walls and they're removable! Fun shapes to accent any decor.

Vinyl Chalkboard Labels:
Can be used on glass (like mason jars) or any smooth or slightly textured surface. Removable and the smaller simple shapes can be reused if removed carefully.

Write on either one just a like a traditional chalkboard. Use regular chalk or the new style chalk-markers for more control and detail. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
