I used to be known as "The Watermelon Lady" back in the early 90's when it was super popular to decorate with watermelons.

At local DC area craft shows The Watermelon Stand sold everything watermelon from tiny wood watermelon items to watermelon chairs. And our booth had 14 different folk arts represented. Our biggest sellers were antique quilt hats, Hand made Hand painted birdhouses, Calligraphy hand print poems, watermelon anything and hand-painted chairs and dressers.

Evolving from country to shabby chic over the years I now paint a lot of flowers. I really have become the custom painter for my clients. I have been asked to paint a wide variety of styles and on a wide variety of surfaces, walls, dressers, tin boxes, serving trays, kitchen cabinets.

I have practiced the art of Calligraphy since middle school. I have taught formal Calligraphy classes to close to 200 students over the years including teaching in Japan. Over the years I have incorporated painting and Calligraphy to make decorative painted poetry. My newest use of typography and Calligraphy is on the new Chalkboard Art Signs.

All my work is freehand adding that homemade, handmade touch.

How do the Herbal Products fit in? Well, it is still the Watermelon Stand... so I thought I would share my love of Herbal products from our little farm as well. I am a trained Clinical Herbalist as well as teach classes on medicinal herbs on our property here in North Florida. Some of the herbs in our products are grown here on our little homestead. We used to make goat milk soap from the milk of our own dairy goats. We currently sell duck eggs to local restaurants and customers.

I say "we" a lot in my descriptions but it really is a one-woman show here. I design, produce, and finish each and every item, then I pack and ship it myself.
