I wanted something totally unique that you can’t just find at the first store you walk into, and this thing fit the bill perfectly. The colors are gorgeous and the craftsmanship is spectacular. I love them!!

Beautiful. Amazing piece of decor.
Succulents are one of the many examples in nature where a species gloriously overcomes tremendous odds.
The idea for Waterstone Succulents evolved out of a thematic interest in the desert that I first explored in painting. I am fascinated with the tenacious, inventive and beautiful ways succulents in the mid-continental US and elsewhere have adapted over geological time to the extreme environments in which they now thrive. Succulents are masters of survival; their ‘succulence’ defined by an incredible ability to store water internally, conserving it for times of drought. By doing so, their lush, plump leaves become the visual antithesis of what common sense would tell you is physically possible given their environmental circumstances. They are one of many examples in nature where a species gloriously overcomes tremendous odds.
From the beginning, I wanted to create something entirely new that wouldn’t suffer by comparison to the live plants. I faced many obstacles along the way, problem solving one by one until the final product was achieved. I believe it’s the unique colors (pristine whites, luminous metallic and playful pastel colors), unique materials (substantial plaster cement), and interchangeable, hand-fashioned, geometric planters that elevate these faux succulents to true art objects.” As soon as I began applying paint, I said to myself ‘Ooo… now you have something.’

I have provided a list of frequently asked questions for buyers below:
*If I send you my zip code can I receive shipping for less?
Etsy uses calculated shipping which means the cost of shipping is determined solely by the weight of the item, size of the shipping box, and destination. I do not profit on shipping costs.
Large retailers may get away with charging less for shipping because they have large contracts with shipping companies. Sadly, small retailers cannot compete with their shipping prices. Thank you for shopping small and supporting independent artists and designers!
That said, if for any reason, Etsy has miscalculated the actual cost of shipping, I will be happy to refund the difference.
*If I live in Denver can I save on shipping by picking up my order?
I cannot accommodate pick-ups. Depending on your location, I may be able to drop your package off for a flat fee. This may only save money on very large orders.
*Do you ship overseas?
It is critical that overseas buyers read my shipping and refund policies below.
*Can I get my item in a custom color not currently offered in your shop?
Yes, however, you must order 5 items or more. To accommodate a custom color I must purchase additional paint, so it is only cost effective for me to offer this with larger orders. Thank you for understanding.
*Are these real plants?
Although this was quite the science experiment, I guarantee these are 100% NOT live plants. There is no maintenance required. They are sculptures.
*What are these made of?
Both the 'planters' and the succulents themselves are cast in plaster cement, and one or the other is then painted.

Returns and exchange details
**All succulents sold in my shop are fragile. I do my very best to package them appropriately for a bumpy ride and the probability of an item arriving damaged is very low; approximately 1 for every 200 shipped.
**I am happy to send replacements for items which arrive broken in shipment, if a buyer contacts me immediately after arrival (Please open your purchase immediately!). Should any damage occur during shipping, please contact me ASAP after receipt of shipment with a photo documenting the damage and I will be happy to replace your item for free.
**I cannot be held responsible for items which are broken once they are in the care of the buyer.
**If you are simply not satisfied with your succulent, please don't hesitate to contact me within two weeks from receipt of shipment and I will gladly try and work something out with you to your satisfaction.
**Returns can only be made on items which are in the same condition in which they were shipped. I cannot extend full refunds on items which are returned damaged or broken. All return items must be in sellable condition.
**All customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Original cost of shipping cannot be refunded.
Please read the shipping policy to international destinations.
All orders will be shipped USPS Priority mail (2-3 day).
I can ship priority international, and first class international. Items which weigh over 4 pounds (3 items or more) must ship priority international. Purchases of 3 or more items may incur additional shipping costs. To be sure you are quoted an accurate shipping price, please contact me before making your purchase.
The items I produce are fairly heavy which makes shipping expensive.
I do my very best to package all fragile items appropriately, however, USPS does not take responsibility for the handling of items shipped outside the US. I cannot, therefore, guarantee their safe arrival. If items are damaged during shipping, I can only offer a partial refund depending on the extent of the damage. Shipping charges will not be refunded. The option to receive a replacement item vs a partial refund will be determined on a case by case basis depending on the cost of shipping to that country.
*I cannot be held liable for additional charges incurred at customs.
*Damage to items shipped overseas is rare.
**If you have overpaid for shipping, I will refund you the difference.
FedEx and UPS provide coverage for their international shipments but they are generally twice as expensive as USPS. If you would like to pay extra for either of these carriers, please contact me before purchasing and I will add on the additional costs.
