About

Wearing Love Adds Much to Fashion!

My passion for creating eco friendly and happy clothing is rooted in my own attempts to express my unique style on the outside. Frustrated by high prices, cookie cutter fashion, waste and assembly line practices, I began designing my own altered clothing and repurposed items to wear myself. I've always loved fashion, but I believe a woman's beauty is far more than the clothes she wears. So the more I grew to express my individual style on the outside, the more I wanted to be clothed with grace, compassion and patience on the inside.

It was in this stage of life that a favorite quote in the Bible became so meaningful to me: "Regardless of what else you put on, wear Love." My shop's name came easily from this verse. And I try each day, no matter the clothes I choose from my closet, to put on Love.

I'm currently a stay at home mom to four great kids! As a busy mom I struggle with feeling fashionable while needing to be practical. That's why beauty, function, budget and comfort are all very important in my sustainable line of clothes. I understand wanting to be comfortable, fashionable and unique and yet needing affordable, wash and wear clothes.

I'm honored to be in the both the 2016 Fall and Spring issue of Altered Couture, the 2015 Autumn issue of Haute Handbags, the 2015 March/April issue of Unite4:Good Magazine and the 2014 Spring issue of Altered Couture Magazine!

Art has always been a part of my life...from music to pottery to watercolor painting...so when I realized the need for pretty refashioned clothes, I hired a talented seamstress for private lessons and she taught me how to do the non-traditional things I do with recycled clothes in a secure, proper way. I don’t follow patterns, I let my heart and intuition guide me as I sew and create!

I enjoy the entire upcycling process…looking for retired pieces in thrift shops, matching the options together, cutting and stitching with my sewing machine and then selling to dear people around the globe. I want my recycled clothing line to be more than just attractive fashion, I want to spread Love and help women look good, feel good and do good. Ten percent of all sales are donated to Samaritan's Purse (www.samaritanspurse.org) a world-wide relief agency.

Thanks to the many women around the globe who have joined the eco fashion revolution and are wearing Love now!

Sewing eco fashion for Wear Love Now fills my heart to the brim. Other things that fill my heart include: hot strong coffee, good books, long walks, heartfelt talks, God's grace and truth, family, friends, hugs from my kids and hanging by the water!

Please see my shop for a large variety of Eco Friendly Fashions. In my sections you can find refashioned dresses, altered tank tops, bohemian tunics, romantic jackets, sweaters, skirts, bottoms, maternity clothes, reloved bags and accessories such as scarves, hats and wraps. All my shop items are recycled, reclaimed, upcycled or repurposed in some way, making them unique and one-of-a-kind.

Upcycling clothing is not only art for me, it is also a way I can be a good steward by recycling! I consider myself an artist who uses the sewing machine to create eco fashion that is feminine, engaging and full of love.
