I combined heart-centred sentiments with my love of sending cards and letters Sure, I enjoy the fast-paced, quick responses of email, texting and messaging like everyone else but nothing replaces the energy you get from a card or letter sent
snail mail. People will say snail is dead. I don't believe it.

I don't know one gal who isn't thrilled when a lovely envelope is popped through the mail slot or found in the mailbox.
You can almost hear the smiles forming on all those faces.

Lovely to meet you!!

About

Connecting women one word, one image, one stitch at a time

I had been in a creative funk for a few years and had lost my artsy mojo. I tried all kinds of things to try and "snap out of it". Eventually what emerged was the best therapy for me was creating collage and an art journal to try and figure what was missing and why I was having trouble creating the way I wanted to. Soon into that journey I realized that all my work with collage, intention board making and dabbling in mixed media I was healing myself with a wide mix of images, historical influences and symbolism. I was also using colour and colour therapy to help heal and at the same time learn about the true gifts colour has to offer. I was trying to redefine my art work with the help of historical women, folklore, Goddess imagery and the many primal lessons from those who traveled this planet long, long ago before me and you. I was fascinated with their stories and their lives. It occurred to me slowly that what I needed more than anything to help me finally pull all this together was what women now and all throughout history have needed....connection.

Connection to each other, to our tribes and most importantly connections that help us heal and thrive and grow. It became clear that the connection with the stories, the images and the history helped me to feel less alone, less isolated, less fearful and more empowered. I also knew I wasn't alone in looking for more and a deeper connection with like minded women.

I slowly emerged into a place where I knew that what I wanted to do was help women connect with each other on a level that strikes in the heart center. We women can be masters at sharing and saying I Love You! You Are Special! and all those good things but sometimes fear, uncertainty or even shyness holds us back and we don't say the things we wish we could. At the end of the day, women
are the great communicators but we all have different ways of communicating our feelings.

I knew that I wanted to hare the messages that I myself, wanted to say or hear because we ALL have those desires. We all what to matter and we all want to be seen, heard, give and receive love. It is universal. No matter the message, these cards come from conversations I have had with the people I care about and conversations I wish I could have. My artwork is full of ideas and thoughts that at some point I wanted to share, needed to say or wanted to hear for myself. We all want to connect with others who are like us. And, most importantly we like to give that back to those we care about the most.

So, to wrap this all up....I combined these sentiments with my love of sending cards, letters and post cards. I enjoy the fast paced, quick responses of email, texting and messaging like everyone else but nothing replaces the energy you get from a card or letter sent snail mail. People will say snail is dead. I don't believe it. I don't know one gal who isn't thrilled when a lovely little enveloped is popped through the mail slot or found in the mail box. You can almost hear the smiles forming on all those faces.

That fact that something as simple as a lovely handmade card can make someone feel happy cherished has a magical essence for me. I want to be able to help facilitate the sharing, the excitement and that fantastic connection. Life is way to short to not share the bonds of kindness, gratitude and fun. Now all you need is a stamp :) Thank you for being here, Lisa
