The Art and Found

The Art and Found is a knitwear brand crocheted in Ithaca, NY by Olivia Royale. For 2016, the brand's focus has been introducing the hand crafted Sun hat and providing an alternative to traditional millinery. Our hats are unique because they stretch to fit most sizes, can pack flat for travel & adventures, and come in a variety of color and eco-friendly fibers.
In addition to our hat collections, we also offer comfortable and affordable knitwear & accessories that can be worn in all seasons, and compliment all styles & sizes!

The Art and Found / Whats Olivia Wearing collections are made in small batches with limited edition or eco-friendly materials. Our designs are collaboratively unique and made with good intent!

Returns and exchanges
Most listings are made to order. Once payment is received, supplies are purchased and time is spent constructing a design. Refunds from an artisan are different than a refund from chain or department stores.
My refund policies are "STORE EXCHANGE ONLY"

I will only issue a refund if:
the item is defected upon arrival
the item is not what you ordered.

custom orders are items that you like in the shop but ask to receive with some difference to the design.( if you have any questions about this please see custom orders section)

I will Not issue a refund if:
you changed your mind and did not like the design on you
the post office lost a package
the person who received as gift did not like.
the item was on sale
the item was a custom order

However in these cases you are always welcome to a store exchange and can write to talk about the refund policy if you have any questions

The Art and Found assumes zero responsibility for mishaps with the postal service. We have never had such an issue but encourage customers who are "weary" to ask to add on delivery confirmation and tracking.

If you receive a garment with a defect:
Please notify me immediately upon arrival, or within 7 days of receiving it. Otherwise all sales are final. most items are photographed prior to shipping and I may be able to distinguish whether the defect came through the mailing proess, etc.

For equal exchanges: items must be returned before receiving items for exchange. Items must be of equal (or lesser) value and have to be "in stock" items; Made to Order products are not included in acceptable exchange items. Please contact me for more info if you would like to exchange something you bought.

In order to receive a refund or exchange, please notify me within 7 days of receiving the item to let me know what your concern is. In the event that an item is returned/exchanged, the cost of the returned shipping will not be included in the refund cost.

one of a kind items made from sustainable/upcycled/ and especially vintage materials are sold as is. to ensure quality of vintage I only make minor repairs and restoration to materials used to create the garment. please ask questions about condition if you are curious and cannot find this information in a listing

In the event that an item is not received in the mail, I am open to a partial refund or re-making the item at half cost. For most international orders I am able to get a tracking number for the item until it leaves the US, which may validate that an item was shipped. if you are interested in securing the arrival of an item I would suggest springing an extra USD for a tracking number! So feel free to contact me prior to purchase if you would like this option!

If you receive your house coat but do not like our orientation of colors or design, if you did not specify originally what you wanted, we do not issue a refund. Our costs are based on production time and material costs and we need to be compensated if an order takes us away from current production and other orders! Make sure to discuss what you want if you have a specific idea. W would hate to cut up special shirts or anything that has meaning to the recipient and make it into something you are unsatisfied with! if you would like to cancel an order please let me know within 24 hours so that I may avoid transfer of paypal and the purchasing of materials!

I offer discounts and reduced shipping costs for orders of multiples and for wholesale contracts. If you see an item and would like to start a wholesale account please email theartandfound [!at] for a price list.

Most of my accessories fall within the weight guidelines for "priority or first class shipping" The costs and rates are based on what is most cost efficient for the customer!

Priority shipping rates are as follows:
US: 2-3 Business days
International: 6-10 Business days.

I do not include delivery confirmation or tracking numbers in shipping costs. please message me prior to purchase if you would like adjusted costs.

If you need an item by a specific date please convo me prior to purchase so that we may arrange to make this happen. this may mean that I adjust shipping costs to accommodate a faster carrier or upgrade to first class or express shipping. I will be able to supply this cost upon request!

Custom Orders:
custom orders are items from my shop that you would like to change (color, pattern, sizing, shape) For these orders, this leaves the compounds of a Royale design and more of a personalized item, so I would not be able to re-sell the item. custom orders are most time a final sale. so I encourage customers to start a conversation with me when inspired so that we may communicate until a clear consensus is reached.
