This is the most beautiful ring that I own! I love it! It came so lovingly and creatively packaged! It shipped quickly and arrived earlier than was expected. I can't wait to purchase another one! Thank you Caitie!

About

Our Story

I bent down to say hello to the little man who would become pivotal to my world, and was greeted with a wet lick and gentle nip on the nose. And this; the start of the love story that reignited my entire world.

When Caitie met Soda was born in May 2014, when I (Caitie) and Paul (known affectionately as Vegan Paul, Paulina Ballerina and the boy) adopted Soda, a then one-year-old Staffordshire-Bullterrier. At the time, I had just left a post-graduate course at university due to unexpectedly becoming ill. Having not left our small flat in East Sussex for weeks, or even our bed for that matter, Soda gave me a reason to get out of bed in the morning, and, in doing so, inadvertently gave me back my light.

The journey to recovery was and is a long one, and during this time my life changed in more ways than I could ever have imagined. My 'five-year-plan' to conquer the world was put on hold, and, I had to learn to live my life in a completely different way. Somewhere on this journey, however, I decided to learn traditional silversmithing techniques, in order to design and create my own jewellery. Doing this was the start of putting myself back together, piece by piece. I learnt that I was creative, as I believe we all are, but never knew of myself. And, most significantly, I learnt that I can communicate even the most profound of emotions through my jewellery.

Among my first ever designs were a set of rings, now known as the Little Comet rings, which I originally made for my sister and now business partner, Christie.

Christie. The continuous light in my life and my best, best friend. The person who has seen it all with me, and has never left. It is because of her that the Little Comets have now found homes in the United Kingdom, the United States of America and most recently, Australia.

From the Little Comets, other designs have grown, and I am learning every day. The unfaltering support and encouragement of my family, my little universe, has meant that I have been able to grow, and in turn, When Caitie met Soda has grown alongside me. They are the inspiration behind all of my designs and, the magic behind When Caitie met Soda.

- Jewellery Care

It is normal for silver to tarnish over time. This can be due to a number of factors, such as exposure to water, heat, chlorine, chemicals found in the body, reactions on skin, as well as exposure to products and perfumes. It is for this reason that we recommend that you avoid exposing your silver and gold jewellery to these things, where possible. For example, apply body moisturisers and perfumes before putting on your jewellery and remove all jewellery before you get in the shower, go swimming, etc., If you would like to have your handmade When Caitie met Soda jewellery cleaned and restored, please don't hesitate to get in touch, either here on Etsy or by sending an email to hello [!at] caitiemetsoda.com.
