The seed for Whimsical Dough was first planted a few years ago when I created a Valentine's Day playdough kit for my daughter. She was constantly making little "heart candies" with the chocolate and vanilla playdough I had made and so carefully decorated each one with heart jewels and set them on trays for her "candy shop". We played this for months! She was COMPLETELY immersed in her play! I then went on to make her other kits and found that they really kept her interest and that she was learning so much! I now have three children, ages 3, 5 and 8 and all of my kids love to play with play dough. Play dough provides numerous benefits to children:
-creative, open-ended play that engages their imagination
-stimulates cognitive, language, and emotional development
-calms anxiety
-encourages problem solving skills
-develops fine motor skills

After doing some research, I noticed that others were selling play dough kits, but many of the kits did not have what I wanted for my kids. They were overflowing with brightly colored dough and an enormous amount of plastic trinkets, which given my teaching background, I knew would be overwhelming to them. From there, I decided to create play dough kits that were simple and organized, yet still whimsical. Our play dough and play dough kits are of high quality, nature inspired, eco-friendly and beautiful for gifting. I offer a variety of doughs and accessories that change seasonally. All doughs are handmade in small batches and are oiled using organic coconut oil, glittered using biodegradable glitter and scented using 100% pure essential oils. All products are made to order and will be shipped within 1-2 weeks of purchase. If you are local you are welcome to pick up the kit from my home.

Playdough Care: This playdough is super soft and squishy. If shipped, the cold weather will make it a little more firm, but the more it is played with, the softer it gets! Occasionally salt crystals will form. All you need to do is knead the dough! Good as new! If it is stored in a tightly closed jar or bag, the playdough should stay good for about 6 months. I also sell replacement jars of dough for if it gets left out or if you simply just want more!
