A WORD ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY:
I, like most consumers, am passionate about knowing whether my clothes and accessories have been made with fair wages and environmentally safe working conditions. Whimsy Wendy is dedicated to both social and environmental good by making products from up-cycled, re-purposed and reused materials whenever possible.
By reusing materials, I have the opportunity to be ethically creative in my approach to developing products. Most clothing on the market today is manufactured at a high environmental cost. By finding new uses for material, we can take a little more pressure off of the earth. Here's a sample of some of my materials and how they are sourced:
Cowhide and leather:
Sustainable and readily available material from the over 25 billion pounds of beef that is consumed in the U.S.A. every year. Recyclable...I use leather and cowhide scraps for the majority of my products. Cleans best with green cleaning (water and gentle detergent or deodorized with baking soda).
Packaging:
Whenever possible, products are shipped in recycled paper including vintage maps. Re-purposed fabric and recycled twine are also sometimes used in product packaging.
THE WHIMSY WENDY PHILOSOPHY:
Shipping is free for all domestic stateside US orders.
I ship items all around the world and very quickly... you shouldn't have to wait for things you love.*
You will receive a full refund on purchased items within seven days if you are not pleased... (but you'll be pleased).

5 out of 5 starsI like the feel of this wallet, it’s also thin which is a change from the old bulky wallet I had. The coloring is really pretty and I like that it comes from an independent seller. Great piece. I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on it as well.

5 out of 5 starsWhimsywendy is amazing! I ordered a cowhide wallet (which the pictures showed brown and white). After I had already placed the order I realized I wanted black and white only. I messaged Wendy about it (later at night) and she responded the very next morning. She said no problem and had something in mind for me. I was so flattered of her quick response (and willing to change up my order) and I couldn’t be any happier with the result!!! It is SUCH an incredibly beautiful handmade wallet (and reasonably priced) which I am proud to show off. I will continue to do business with her! Thanks so much Wendy!

You are never to old to be a princess (or enjoy Whimsy Wendy)
Whimsy Wendy
Whimsy Wendy was created out of a creative itch in 2007 that came to me by way of my maternal grandmother. She could cook, bake, sew, embroider, crochet and knit with perfection learned from necessity of life.
Whimsy Wendy began in a windowless and cramped laundry room over ten years ago. My two girls were both attending school full time and I wanted to do something with my hands. I started creating children's costumes and soon expanded into other homemade imagination-stimulating products. In 2007, a wise friend pointed me in the direction of Etsy. I've been a member ever since. My product line has changed substantially over the years but I still get a thrill of someone falling in love with something I make.
My studio now has three large windows, overlooking downtown Minneapolis. I get such a thrill when my products are sent around the world. I often wish that i would have kept count of how many products and gifts I have made and sold over the years and where they were shipped to.
