OMG! Gorgeous. This checkers game board exceeds my expectations and was a lovely surprise today when it arrived. The sheer craftsmanship and detailing that came together to create this piece are expert level. The board alone has like 5 coordinating fabrics coming together in precise geometry. The game pieces and matching bag are thoughtfully detailed. Flawless. Diedre was considerate and helpful in making this custom artwork. She was busy, but managed to get my piece completed earlier than expected. Look no further if you want an experience that melds artistry, precise craftsmanship and great customer service. Happy! We are so pleased with our oversized chess board quilt. Deidre made the process easy and allowed me to contribute to the design. The workmanship and quality is outstanding. This will be an heirloom for our family.

Although I’m based in sunny San Diego, Whimzie quilts have gone to good homes all over, from Massachusetts to New Mexico, Colorado to Texas. There’s even one in Europe! I’ve shown at a couple of local quilt and craft shows, too, but I’m not doing this for recognition --
I’m a full-time custom quilter because I know there are people out there, like you, who’ve always wanted a quilt and I want to create it!

While my passion is creating "the quilt you've always wanted", sometimes my creativity overflows and it results in smaller “whimzical” quilted items looking for a good home. That’s why I opened whimziequiltz.etsy.com.
Like my custom quilts, your whimziequiltz.etsy.com purchases are made using 100% cotton fabric, quality thread and other specialty quilting supplies. Each is created using a traditional sewing machine and sewn with the care and attention to detail you’d expect -- after all, your item is being made by a person (me!) not mass-produced in some factory.
