Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalised orders

CUSTOM ORDERS CURRENTLY CLOSED SO I CAN CATCH UP. I'm hoping to be able to reopen them sometime in July/August

Turnaround time on custom orders is usually 6-8 weeks. I will often have it done before then, but in addition to being a busy mama and prioritizing my family, there are some things out of my control such as waiting on delivery of supplies (such as the perfect coordinating fabric for your order).

Custom order pricing starts at $160 and goes up from there depending on size of the quilt, fabric chosen, and complexity of the pattern.

Care instructions

All of my quilts are pre-washed and machine washable. There are care instructions on the label, but generally I recommend washing on cold cycles (warm at most) and tumble drying low, or hanging to dry.

Sizing details

Almost all of my quilts measure approximately 43"×60", give or take an inch or two, unless otherwise noted in the listing. They are the perfect size for tummy time, cuddles, crib sleeping, and will even still fit a toddler bed during transition.

Yes! This size is also a perfectly acceptable size as a small throw.

What materials do you use?

I use Warm & Natural brand 100% cotton batting in all of my quilts.

I also use pure cotton thread and I use 100% cotton fabric for almost all my quilts, with very few exceptions.

If you have any questions about specific fabric composition, or are trying to stay plastic or chemical free, please message me. I would be happy to create something for you out of completely organic fabrics.

Do you offer pick-up/delivery in Calgary?

Yes! I offer free delivery within Calgary and Okotoks. Use code LOCALYYC at checkout to bypass shipping costs.

Do you ship outside Canada?

Yes! Please message me for a custom shipping quote. I've shipped to both the US and the UK and cost can depend on a variety of factors.

Rainbow Quilts

Rainbow quilts were made with grieving parents in mind. I had a hard time finding rainbow decor for my own rainbow baby's nursery, that fit within the colour scheme. Having a rainbow quilt is a subtle nod to the angel sibling(s) that came before.

Anyone can buy a rainbow quilt, even if for no other reason than you like rainbows.

$15 from each quilt goes to the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Centre in Calgary.

Safe Sleep

Please practice safe sleep with infants and consult your pediatrician prior to letting an infant under 12 months sleep with a blanket of any size. I am not responsible for any consequences of unsafe sleep practices.

These quilts still make wonderful blankets for snuggling and tummy time for infants, and they can often be the centrepiece of the nursery.

My quilts are big enough to last through the toddler years so there's no worry about quickly outgrowing it.

Is there anything I can do to make the quilt softer?

I use almost exclusively natural and organic materials and although most of the fabrics are very soft to touch, some fabrics are a bit rough when they first arrive. These will soften over time in the wash.
Although I recommend laying flat to dry as much as possible, once your quilt is dry, putting it in the dryer on a cool air setting with some wool dryer balls really helps soften it up post-wash.
