The Whole long History of WidderShins & The Pampered Lady

THE PAMPERED LADY- EST 1979 (The beginning)
Our little counter culture shoppe started over 35 yrs ago by one of the original aromatherapist of the early 1970's hippie revolution, Judy Rood. She was instrumental in bringing essential and fragrant oils out of California's Haight Ashburry district to the suburban mid-west, creating some of the first "Head shops" in Michigan.
Creating scents, soaps, lotions & potions in her Holly, Michigan Boutique, Judy set up one of the first aromatherapy stores and enlarged to shopping Mall kiosk soon after, some of which still operate today.
In 1979 She had the great insight to invest in these little known festivals called Renaissance Festivals and had one of the first buildings built in what is now known as the Michigan Renaissance Festival. This Leading lady went on to invest and mentor many other oilers throughout the festivals and the nation creating these special fragrant legacy's and some of the most widely renowned recipes that exists today.

ON BECOMING WIDDERSHINS
Purchasing the business almost 20 years later, The Pampered Lady fit seamlessly into WidderShins. Judy's books, notes and all her hand written recipes matched my own Herbal business perfectly.

SWEETGRASS & WIDDERSHINS and THE HOLLY MILL (2005-2012)
We then opened stores in Davisburg, then our huge 3 story Holly Mill & Company. We started Music @The Mill and The Holly Farmers Market. After complete exhaustion, 80 hours a week from hosting so many village events and too darn much Music Fun we closed our Mill in October 2012. Bringing things back to the little "Witch House Studio" in the backyard. I am very excited to be back to the blending and creating products and hosting only a few events per year rather than weekly events.

I am still posting and figuring out how to get all the many options we have to make good scents in your home on this site. So please bare with us.
As always, we are still blending and perfecting and continuing to create new products. We have evolved and expanded our oil lines to include more of your favorite new scents and still keep your tried and true Classics.
