5 out of 5 starsThis is such a beautiful ring and so well made! I love Bruneau Jasper, but the colors and patterning in this particular stone are exceptional. Great silversmithing work, and the design ampifies the stone's beauty. Fast ship, well packaged, great communication, first class transaction and seller. most highly recommend!

I'm Heather Pedersen- metalsmith, artist, bookworm, nature lover. I began making jewelry in 2007, mostly self-taught I work in a small studio.
As a child I did my best to feed my insatiable curiosity by reading and exploring everything around me. An observer by nature I was always fascinated by the little things, the details that set things apart (or tie things together) and that generally go unnoticed.
My curious nature eventually brought me to work at an independent import store. I loved discovering the unique character of handmade objects from all over the world. It was then that my affinity for jewelry began. It was quite some time later that my love of pattern, texture and structure finally blossomed into Wild Carrot Studio (any Leo the Late Bloomer fans out there?).
I personally fabricate every piece of jewelry in my home studio – right down to making my own earwires and clasps. I do this because of the unique character it creates, giving my handmade pieces a decidedly organic quality that mass produced jewelry cannot capture (the only components of my jewelry not made by me "from scratch" are beads, cabochons, and commercial chain). My love of nature informs everything I do, so I also strive to run a green studio & most of my silver is recycled/reclaimed.
Inspiration comes from all around me: nature, organic forms, science, architecture, history, found objects. I love making jewelry for what the process gives to me but I also hope that the resulting creative expressions will resonate with others – I like to think of it as a kind of conversation about experiencing the world.
Thank you for supporting handcrafted arts!

In 2007 I began making handcrafted jewelry as a much needed creative outlet while working towards a degree in Biology. I am drawn to jewelry as a tactile art form and love its unique potential as personal adornment.
