We are tucked away in a hundred year old home, in a valley surrounded by mountains, hills, rivers, lakes, creeks, moose, wolf and bear. There are also a lot of other visiting critters to the property including raccoons, deer, elk and not to mention hundreds of birds.
I've always been a lover of nature and scent. One of those little girls that would take an old mason jar, put carefully picked petals and water in it, in hopes of creating something magical. What I love about natural perfume is that it brings us closer to nature in an amazing way, and I believe our very core craves nature.
For me, getting out into the woods happens nearly every day when the weather permits, and is a perfect way to get my fix for nature. Who doesn't love the smell of lush moss, and fern? the Cottonwoods in Spring, or an ancient cedar grove after a heavy rain? I try to capture the magnificent fragrances of nature in my perfumes. I have a studio in my home, where I go to study, experiment, and create the perfumes offered here and on my website. I make very small batches, cure them, then hand pour each perfume. WeI also grow many of the herbs and flowers found in some of my tinctures and enfleurage. I wild craft whenever possible too, so you may find seashell, moss, fir, pine or stone infusion or tincture in my perfumes. When we moved from Alaska, I brought many gems with me including glacial silt from a receding Glacier, which were infused in some of my formulas.
Wild Perfumes are inspired by many things including family, nature, my heritage, music, literature, art, sci fi and my imaginings :)
