About

Connective threads.

Charcoal, made of charred vines and twigs, has a primal, ancient quality. I love it because for me, it's distinctive behavior is a connective thread to the rhythms & textures of animals. At it's best, the process of drawing is one of 'listening' and learning.

I studied at Columbus College of Art & Design, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, and a sculptural/ceramic apprenticeship with Kakuho Saito in Fukui Prefecture, Japan.

Embracing the use of paper cutouts in my photography blew open my studio door in 2009, and allowed me to create semi-abstract, descriptive images in the field that are thought-out, but intuitive: the Bark Animals. What I love most about creating this way, is the feeling of making, without over thinking. I draw inspiration from every unpaved walk I take and time I spent in a soto zen monastery.

Shipping
All items ship directly from the studio only after being lovingly packed.

SHIPPING ADDRESS:
We ship USPS through Etsy's system, so please make sure your address is current when you checkout. If it gets returned there will be additional shipping charges to resend it to you, and no one wants that!

UPGRADES:
If you need expedited delivery, no problem. Send a convo before going through checkout, to confirm an estimated time of arrival and arrange payment for Priority Mail.

CUSTOMS FEES (International Buyers):
Please check with your postmaster or customs office regarding import fees that may apply to your purchase. Wild Pulp is not responsible for any customs fee charges you may incur to pick your package. If your package is returned because you refuse to pay a customs fee and your package arrives undamaged back in the studio, you will be refunded, but excluding a 20% re-stocking fee and the original shipping cost. No exceptions.

CANADIAN BUYERS (yay!):
On occasion, packages take longer to arrive at Canadian destinations. We're not sure why this is, but we've never had one go missing or damaged, so hang in there. Any questions, just send an email!
Refunds and Exchanges
Returns and exchanges are gladly accepted on undamaged, resalable items. Requests need to be made within 5 days of receiving your order. Shipping costs are not refundable. Buyer is responsible for return shipping.
