The Story of WildWood Creations

Hi, my name is Will and I have a true passion for woodworking. Ever since I was a child, I have had a strong connection with trees and all things wood. In the yard I grew up in, there was a huge Gingko tree, and I spent years climbing and resting high up on its limbs and branches. I admired its strength and beauty, and the way it swayed and moved in the wind.

My grandfather had a lot of antique wooden furniture, much of it created with hand tools. I was always in awe of the craftmanship and skill needed to make these pieces.

I had always loved building and creating things with my hands but when my wife and I bought our first house, this passion was taken to another level. It is a beautiful old house built in 1934 and needless to say it needed a lot of work. Never being one to let others do work for me, I set out to learn everything I could about plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, and woodworking.

The more I worked on the house, the more I wanted to learn and the more I remembered those old antiques my grandfather owned. I wanted to learn how to make things like that and make them with hand tools, so I set out to acquire as much knowledge and skill as I could. I started to learn how to cut mortis and tenons and dovetails and all sorts of other joinery by hand. I started out making gifts for my wife, family, and friends; frames, jewelry boxes, signs, whatever anyone wanted.

In the meantime, my wife and I own a pet sitting and dog walking company here in Londonderry NH, www.tdpetcare.com , and I am a dog trainer. I was amazed at how many of our client’s pups strained to eat off the floor, especially the older ones. When we rescued our pup Lincoln, who has hip dysplasia, I saw him straining too, so I built him his own feeding station. He loved it and I started to make them for our client’s pups too!

Somewhere along the line, someone suggested that I open my own Etsy shop to offer my work to the masses and WildWood Creations was born. So here I am. Offering my skill and the pride in what I do to you! Thank you for stopping by!
