Beautifully packaged, arrived promptly, lovely scent. Excellent product. These candles are of the highest quality-so much better than can be found in any retail store. I promptly ordered more after receiving my first order. Sellers are wonderful and kind.

Hand-Poured Soy Wax Candles

Wilfred Wax is a small, family owned candle company that operates out of a cozy kitchen in the Chicago suburbs. We use all natural soy wax to hand-pour soy candles with unique and memorable fragrance blends. In fact, we treat our candles like aromatic works of art. By adjusting each blend one ml of fragrance oil at a time, our scented waxes are thoroughly tested and tweaked until we've come up with a fragrance that we adore. Each candle is inspired by a beloved facet of our lives—whether it be an oft-visited study spot, a favorite tasty treat, a cherished book, or our nerdy indulgences.

So why soy candles? We totally dig soy wax. We love its milky appearance, excellent throw ("throw" = degree to which a wax produces fragrance), and American-grown ingredients. We even love its eccentricities; soy wax is stubborn, opinionated, and frankly, takes some getting used to. But it's worth it! ​​Made with all-natural soy wax sourced from soybean farms, our candles burn cleaner, last longer, and smell stronger than other petroleum-based paraffin candles. We pour (pun intended) ourselves into making every batch excellent. Each and every candle is lovingly doted upon, personally wrapped, and carefully shipped by us.

    Michelle is Kenyon's wife and Wilfred's publicist. Candle-pouring and fragrance design is part of her job, but her speciality is print & web design. During the day, Michelle is a doctoral student. She reads for a living.

We're based in Illinois, so we charge sales tax on any order that originates within our state only.
Shipping
▸ Domestic Shipping

We ship all US orders 16oz or above using USPS Priority Mail. Any orders under 16oz ship via USPS First Class Mail. Remember that we need a couple of days to get your candle ready for shipment before we can get it in the mail. Provided everything goes as planned at the post office, after it leaves our place in Wheaton, IL, your order will arrive in 1–3 days for Priority Mail shipments, and 2–5 days for First Class shipments. A tracking number and insurance will be included with each Priority Mail order at no additional cost.

We offer to ship domestic orders over $75 for free! To claim your free shipping, enter the coupon code SHIPFREE75 at checkout.

▸ International Shipping

International orders are shipped USPS First Class Mail. Your candles should arrive within 2–3 weeks after we ship them. (Please note: Some countries charge additional customs fees and/or tariffs that the buyer is responsible to pay in addition to the shipping that we charge through our store.)
Additional policies and FAQs
At the moment we are not offering custom fragrances, but we're not entirely opposed to the idea. If you're really excited about our candles and want to work with us to create a new fragrance, contact us. We can't promise we'll grant your request, but we'll absolutely consider it!

We're also willing to consider bulk orders of smaller candles for special occasions (bridesmaids' gifts, etc). Just convo us!

Gift wrapping and packaging

If you let us know your order is a gift, we'd be happy to include a personalized note. Simply request a note and include the text in the note at checkout.

We always wrap candles carefully in foam and tissue paper and then place them in a small kraft box (which is placed in a larger envelope or box for shipping). So no matter the occasion, the candle will arrive looking like a gift! Tarts are also wrapped in foam and tissue paper.

If you're purchasing the "Let Them Eat Cake" candle, we offer free gift wrapping that includes a hand-written card and ribbon to make the craft box look even more festive.

Delivery Issues

Provided we packed the order as described above, Wilfred Wax is not responsible for any damage done to your order in shipping, nor are we responsible for stolen/lost packages that are reported as "Delivered" in the tracking data. Unfortunately, after the package leaves our hands, it is out of our control.

That being said, if your domestic package is missing for two weeks past its expected delivery date, we're happy to file a claim with USPS and resend your order. Feel free to contact us with any questions. If a package is returned to us because of an incorrect address or other delivery information, it is the buyer's responsibility to pay any additional shipping/packaging costs that are required.
