About

From Handy-Man to Artist

I"m cooking and Chris is in the kitchen, in between listening to my daughters stories about angry lions and ponies, I"m telling him about the idea I had at work today for this picture hanger. The wheels start spinning in his head. After supper he's out in the shop putting something together with his own take.

The business, like our lives, has evolved. Chris left a wood manufacturing job after a couple of years with a budding passion for woodworking and the knowledge to fix almost anything. We did not have kids at the time and had the freedom to explore and see where a business might lead. Williswoodworking originally was a home remodeling and repair business. While this side of things still pays most of the bills, we are working together to make the wood and metal creations that Chris so loves to craft, as I mentioned before, pay the bills.

Like most artist Chris's art has changed over time. Originally he was only creating traditional wood crafts, coffee tables, boxes, etc... Now he has developed a passion for melding wood and metal together or creating a more mechanical piece, like his adjustable table lamp.

Between the two of us there are lots if ideas brewing. Stay tuned.

Chris creates and crafts functional and purely decoritive work out of wood and a combination of wood and metal. He also has a love of bicycling and bicycles. In his spare time he likes to take bikes apart and then use those pieces to build a new one

Co-owner and wife to Chris. I handle the business and most of the communication side of things here on Etsy. When not helping Chis, I'm taking care of our two young kids, teaching computers at an elementary school and reading historical fiction.

Shop policies

Last updated on October 27, 2015
Thanks for visiting our shop! We first opened right before the birth of our second child, bad timing for us. We have recently retooled, refocused and reopened in 2012. Chris designs and hand-crafts each piece in his small workshop along the banks of Silver Creek in beautiful southern Indiana. I (his wife Dulcie) handle most of the business on Etsy.
