About

The Birth of Raven House

Most businesses start in the same way. It usually starts with an idea and then grows from there. Our story is pretty similar to everyone else's. For me though, it's not about the bottom line or developing a product just to be sold. It's about love. I want to create things that not only I fall in love with, but my customers will as well.

I love art in it's many forms. Music, dance, paintings, drawings, sculptures, etc..etc..I first fell in love with art as a small child in the form of music. I took that love and begin training as a violinist. Truth be told, I wasn't that great of a violinist. I got so scared in my auditions, that I would always mess up somewhere and thus, never made it past my high school orchestra. I still loved it though. And then a few years ago, my world came crumbling down. I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease. A rare disease that ends up destroying your balance and your hearing. I was devastated. As my hearing went, I felt lost. I couldn't use music as an outlet any longer and that is when I turned to painting and creating things with my hands. I've had to learn to let go of my perfectionist tendencies and come to love and appreciate the imperfections, as that is what makes art. I wanted to bring my love of art out into the world and thus Raven House was born.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

We love custom and personalized orders! Please feel free to message us at any time with your custom order request. Please note that with custom and personalized orders, we do not accept returns, so if there is an issue with your product, please let us know and we will do what we can to make it right.

On some of your listings, it says the product is made with MDF. What is that?

MDF is a medium-density fiberboard. It's basically wood fiber compressed into a board. It's also lighterweight and as I have found, easier to hang.

What kind of vinyl do you use?

We use a high quality outdoor rated vinyl called Oracal 651. It's glossy in appearance and has adhesive on the back allowing the vinyl to last for at least 5-7 years.

I haven't received my order yet and tracking shows that the last scan was in Salt Lake City, UT. What should I do?

Even though your tracking may say your order will be delivered by a specific date, it unfortunately is not guaranteed by USPS. So please allow at least 7 business days for your order to arrive before contacting us. The only exception to this is for overnight shipping.

Do you ship internationally?

At this time we do not offer international shipping. However, if you see a product that you like, please message us for an international shipping quote.

How do I upload files to Silhouette Studio?

1. Check which version of Studio you have. If you have the free version that came with your machine, this is the Basic Edition, and you must use the DXF files. If you have paid to upgrade, you have the Designer Edition, and you must use the SVG files.

2. Open Silhouette Studio, and select File, Import, Import to Library from the top menu.

3. Navigate to the location where you saved your files, and select the file.

4. Your Library will open, and Studio will automatically place the file in your My Own Designs folder.

5. Open the file by double clicking the thumbnail image in your Library.
To access the file in the future, select File, Library from the top menu bar. You will see the file in your My Own Designs folder.

How do I upload files to Cricut Design Space?

1. After you have extracted your files, save the SVG file in a convenient location.

2. Open Cricut Design Space, and select the blue “Create New Project” button, or click File, New.

3. Click the Upload Images button on the left vertical panel.

4. Click the blue Upload Image button on the next screen.

5. Click the blue Browse button, and select the SVG file you have saved.

Do you sell .studio file types?

No, we don’t. These file types are proprietary to Silhouette America, and their sale by any third party vendor is strictly prohibited. Instead, please use DXF files for Silhouette Studio Basic Edition, and SVG files for Silhouette Studio Designer Edition.

Can I sell products that I make with the designs I purchased?

Yes you can. These files are for personal and small business commercial use. This means that you may use each file you purchase to create any PHYSICAL object to use personally, or to sell commercially a maximum of 200 items.

However, you mat not:
- use the files, or any part of them, to sell digitally in any format, including digitizing the images for resale as embroidery files.

- upload the files to any print on demand such as Cafe Press, Zazzle, or Tee Spring.

- Sell or share these with anybody. The file you purchase is only license for your use. Should you share it with or sell it to anyone, you are infringing on our terms of use and copyright.
