Announcement   Welcome to Winds of Change!

From the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains I send all of you who visit my shop my wishes for peace, joy and tranquility.
It is wonderful to have a place with other artisans and craft lovers who truly appreciate and understand the time and passion each one of us puts into creating something special by hand.
The first time I saw one of the beautiful American Girl Dolls I decided to dress them, but where to begin... After seeing all the lovely historical and period clothing already being sewn I decided to take a different path and make unique dresses for these charming little ladies. Although, on occasion, I do make more traditional dresses. I love elaborate gowns and embellished hats and capes. It has now become a challenge to image more and more beautiful ensembles and to make them a reality. My little dresses are made with quality fabrics and trims, imported rayon embroidered tulle laces, buttons and bows. Much of the finish work is done by hand which can be very time consuming but , to me, the end result is well worth the work! Most of the hats are also trimmed by hand. These little dresses "from the heart" are lined and hand finished and sewn with double seams to eliminate raw edges . They are perfect for display and some for gentle play by an older doll lover. If you have a "dream dress" let me know and together we will try to create a "dream come true" for your special doll!

I will be happy to make many of my afghans and baby items in custom colors, please ask. My hand crocheted Barbie dresses can be made in many different colors and I have a large selection of imported lace in different colors and floral designs. Just ask!
