About

Me and my dream!

Windy Willow Homestead
A little more information on Windy Willow Homestead:
I created this business to share my love of crafting with others. Each and every piece that I make is my labor of love. I want my baskets and all of my coiled fabric goods to not only pretty to look at but functional as well.
All of my soaps are made using the cold process method. I try and use organic as much as possible and I ALWAYS use sustainably harvested. Handmade soaps are such a luxury item. The skin loving oils and the lovely scents do create luxury in a bar.
I also carry wax melts and miscellaneous sewn products. As for my wax melts, I only use soy wax and leave my wax uncolored.
Please take a look at what else I have in my shop. Have something special made for you. Thank you!!

Care Instructions for Cold Process Soap:
If you have never used cold process soap you’re in for a special treat. Cold process soap should be allowed to dry between uses. This is important because during the curing process there is natural glycerin that is formed in the soap. Glycerin is by nature a humectant (it pulls water to it). By allowing the bar to dry between uses means you will have a longer lasting bar.

Care Instructions for Coiled Fabric Goods:
To clean: use a damp cloth to remove stain, you can throw them in the washer but this not recommended because of bleeding of color and losing shape. If using the washer; use the hand wash or the most delicate cycle and use cold water. Allow product to air dry. If there are more frayed edges use scissors to cut off excess threads. (Fraying of fabric is normal and some fabrics will fray more than others.) To retain shape use a hard sided bowl (such as a glass or plastic) to put the fabric bowl over to dry. This will help put the basket back into shape. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. wwhomestead [!at] yahoo.com

I was born and raised in northwest Indiana. I have always enjoyed doing crafts that didn't have to have straight lines. I have tried quilting but could never get the squares to match up correctly.
