stories written by needle and thread...
a believer that dreams can be made real through expression,
i've been creating stories my whole life, sending them out into the world in as many ways as possible.
born into a family nourished by oral stories to hold on to, i grew up as an actress, dancing and writing poetry along the way. it was my sister, along with a wonderful circle of friends in brooklyn, who helped lead me down the path of learning the somewhat lost art of hand stitching. and, so, a needle and thread became my pen; words written upon history-rich, vintage textiles.
and this little hollow, a world in which to share my dreams through soft sculpture, came to life in 2008... a world to share my textile and fiber art. where anything is possible... little boats with sails in bloom; orchids blossoming from scattered pieces of antique kimono robes; succulents rooting and growing in washed up shells from the sea.
my work continually changing to reflect my own journey in life and as an artist.
>>>
bits of me:
i’m a vegetarian (except for seafood), an old dusty english novel reader, a vintage thrifter, a garden lover (a plant killer), an out of practice dancer, an actress, a proud aunt, a free verse writer, an organic food eater, and a girl ready to greet whatever chaotic adventures await me each new day... embracing the simple bits that make life so wonderful.
a continuing story.
i call atlanta home these days, by way of new york, north carolina, kentucky, and a childhood spent in southern california. my degree is in theatre with a background in performance art.
you'll usually find me with a cup of coffee in hand, and indie music playing as a soundtrack to my work.

Shop policies
With a background in performance art, and a resulting degree in theater and design, creating imaginative and magical stories within each piece of work is also very important to me. When creating each unique piece, I spend a great deal of time finding inspiration in the world around me, imagining the story of the piece, and finally constructing the actual work of art.
All of my work is entirely stitched by hand, with needle and thread, or needle felted (a process by which wool fiber is poked and shaped thousands of times with barbed needles). Hand stitching is extremely time consuming, but makes for completely original and detailed work of heirloom quality... as well as a distinctive visual look which cannot be duplicated by machine.
My items arrive wrapped in either a hand stitched cotton bag or in a gift box made from recycled materials... it's always fun to open a pretty package ;) Taking great care in both my work and packaging is extremely important to me... i always want customers to be excited and delighted with their pieces!
I hope my work inspires and envelops one into a fanciful world of imagination!!
