Better than in the picture. I cannot wait to give this to my parents as a gift. Beautiful piece of art.

Beautiful piece of art to add to our baby boy's nursery. Even more beautiful in person.

About

Discovering Wire

Several years ago, I acquired a roll of baling wire at a garage sale near Milaca, Minnesota and I began creating wire sculptures. I started with small, rather simple forms that were inspired by nature and as time went on I took on larger challenges.

My wire sculptures are one of a kind, three-dimensional drawings, simplifications of the intricate designs inspired by nature. They are an abstraction that’s just realistic enough to delight our memories of these scenes from our own observations. I really enjoy the process of manipulating the wire and creating forms that delight viewers.

I do not mount my sculptures on canvas, paper or plywood and they don't require a frame. I do not paint my sculptures, so solvents are not used. The sculptures are very light therefore shipping takes less energy. It is my hope that my work reflects my love of the natural world and that it is kind to the environment as well.

All my life I have been an avid outdoorsman and a storyteller, as an artist these two aspects of my character join together. I love to create art that shares my observations on the simple beauty of nature.
