I am a super happy customer! The pendants are beautiful! Michelle did an awesome job wrapping my stone. The bubble tree pendant is spectacular with both the front and back "bubbled". This was a most enjoyable experience, receiving updates and pictures along the way. Thank you very much Michelle. I look forward to returning to your wonderful store.

About

From being a geology geek, to an artist; I can’t wait to see what happens next!

My creative story all begins when I was little, with blond pig tales, sitting with my mom at a table and making small kiddie crafts. My mom knew that I needed to keep my ADHD hands on something to keep me still, so she showed me the world of crafting. Without knowing it, crafting and creating became a part of my everyday life. We experimented with different materials like paper, metal, paints, and clay. I was slowly becoming a Jack-of-All-Trades. I have also had a strong love for science. I was very interested in geology. Not until I was in high school, I mixed the two together. Bringing both beloved crystals and art together to make wire wrapped jewelry and sculptures.

Jewelry started with my love for gems, and crystals. In the early years of high school, I would scavenge swap meets, street fairs, shops and anywhere else I could get my hands on unique stones to add to my collection. But how can I show off all my beautiful stones and crystals? I couldn't just carry them around in my pockets, and have them all sitting pretty on a shelf wasn't very satisfying either.
There was a vendor at the local street fair that sold beautiful jewelry. Wonderful gems were showcased in their wire wrapped frames. I thought to myself, what a great idea! So I bought the cheapest tools and wire and got to work. It looked awful, but I wore my twisted art everywhere. I went back to that street fair, wearing one of my latest pieces, and visited a rock booth I looked every week. The vendor noticed my necklace and got really excited. He gave me six beautiful pieces to wrap and offered me 20$ when I returned the next week. So it all began.

With breaking tools and cheap wire, I returned to him the next week with all pieces done and got paid. It happened every week for a summer. I would get a handful of beauties, wire wrap them, get paid, and then do it all again. Every week, I saw improvements in my wire wrapping. It was really looking like art now! The vendor moved on to a different street fair on his quest for profit. Now, I had dreams of having my very own booth and online store!

I continued to make jewelry and branched off into making wire sculptures as well. I bought better tools and better wire as I improved my skills. I never knew that one day I would be working with real silver and gold! It is very important to me that I stay true to my roots, and continue to use genuine stones and crystals in my work. I have also found it important to use very skin friendly metals in my artwork, as I have very sensitive skin.

The process in which I create a new necklace or other jewelry design either starts with a stone or an inspiration in my life. I rarely sketch before I start wire wrapping a stone. Instead, I sit and I think about that particular stone. It may sound silly, but I listen to what it has to say. Should I wrap it in silver, copper, or another metal? Should I cover most of it with wire, or let the stone do most of the showing off? Should I focus on an elegant wire weave, or simply frame the stone? When creating a piece that doesn’t have any stones in it, it often sources from an experience or inspiration from another artist. Sometimes a walk in the woods can have me running home to make a tree of life necklace. Other times a swim at the beach might make me wanting to make a jellyfish pendant.

More times than not, my pieces for sale are one of a kind. I find it more enjoyable for myself if I keep it unique. I feel as if I was shopping for a piece of jewelry, which I often do, I want something original. I don’t look for a cookie cutter ring, that hundreds of other people may have. Not that it’s a bad thing, that is just how I like it. I like funky, fun, and one of a kind. I hope that buyers from my store can appreciate it that no one else will ever have that necklace that is hanging around their neck or that sculpture that gives inspiration on their desk. I want to make art that inspires and brings happiness.

I opened my Etsy shop in 2014 without knowing the first thing about it. I all knew is that I make something, take pictures of it, post it online, and hope someone will take it into his or her home. I wasn’t looking for a profit. I wasn’t looking to make a career out of it. When I started, I was still in high school and only wanted an excuse to continue making little wire wrapped arts. Only after a year of college and experiencing what jobs are out there, I began to wonder what I really wanted from a career. I didn’t want to do something without passion or without a say in what goes on. In the summer of 2016, I decided to throw myself into this small business I have. I want to make art for a living. I want to make people happy, inspired and feel beautiful through my artwork.

I thank you for reading this rather long shop bio. I know we all have busy lives and things to do, but you took time out of your day to learn a little something about me and my shop.
Have a beautiful day.

Frequently asked questions

Please Read! Warnings about metals and sensitive skin

Some people have sensitive skin and may react poorly to some metals.

Copper: Is known to leave a green color on the skin. Most of my jewelry is made out of copper and oxidized copper tends to leave more marks on the skin. This isn't often an issue, but it could cause itching or worst reactions to very sensitive skin. My earrings hooks on my copper earrings are oxidized copper and will turn your earring holes green. I do not recommend wearing copper earrings more than a day at a time.

Sterling Silver: Is often very safe for even the most sensitive skin. It is gentle and does not leave many marks on the skin. I recommend sterling silver to people who tend to have sensative skin.

Custom and personalized orders

Just ask me!

I love doing custom work and would gladly make something just for you. I often do custom jewelry, dreamcatchers, and the occasional wire sculpture.

Please keep in mind that all customs take time, and may take weeks to complete. Also, customs tend to be more expensive due to their time and extra care.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All jewelry is packaged on a 'jewelry card' with brief care instructions. This will be secure in a plastic baggie, as this stops the metal from tarnishing. All of this is wrapped up in sparkly tissue, placed in a purple organza bag, and shipped out in a gray bubble mailer.

Dreamcatchers and wire sculptures are packaged and shipped according to their shape and size.

Orders do not come with an invoice, unless you request one (send me a message or in the buyer's note).

If you wish for special gift wrapping or packaging, please message me before your purchase.

Sizing details

Every item has their sizing details in the description.

For listings with more than one quantity, every piece may vary slightly in shape, size, and color from the photos, as everything is handmade.

Most necklace chains can be adjusted, so please message me if you would like a different size than what is in the description.

Care instructions

Although every piece is carefully made by hand, some parts of the wire may still move in places, so if you aren't too careful, it can be bent out of place.

Keep your jewelry clean and dry to prevent oxidation. Take your jewelry off every night and wipe off body oils and sweat with a clean soft cloth. Store in an air-tight container.

Your jewelry is made out of genuine metals. Overtime it may oxidize, patina and also stain skin in the process. This reaction is not a defect and varies according to an individual’s body chemistry.

To shine your jewelry: Scrub lightly with a fine 0000 steel wool pad (available at any hardware store). Rinse and pat dry with a soft cloth.

Jewelry and my other handmade creations are not intended for children.
