Once upon a time...
Wishes & Wildflowers children's clothing has been a just a twinkle in my eye for a long time; the inspiration comes from my own growing up- a collection of smaller adventures that all lead to here and now....
I have fond memories of exploring the woods behind my home as a small child, making wishes on wildflowers, playing hide-and-seek with kids from the neighborhood and then when the sun went down, we chased fireflies. I was a "free-range", outside-until-dinner kind of kid, growing up before cellphones and the Internet were a thing. Gosh, that sounds ancient. I didn't have a wooly mammoth as a pet, I swear. The 90's were really kind of awesome. I had a lot of free time to answer my own questions and make my own fun.
I’ve been making art ever since I could hold a crayon and as I got older, sewing became my playground. My mind and hands are always busy and I am happiest when my imagination is wild and free. I have always been and always will be an artist and I credit my "doing" nature to my Grandpa who never had a clear workbench or a blank notebook.
Crossing the bridge into adulthood led me on a teaching adventure for nearly a decade (I was pretty hungry as an artist). Enriching the lives of children and helping them grow is such a fantastic feeling. I've never fit well behind a desk, though and I don't think many kids do either. Children need opportunities to be creative explorers and connected to nature. A healthy imagination is the foundation for problem-solvers of the world including scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and writers.
Becoming a mother was sunlight needed for the idea of a children's clothing line and parenting blog to sprout above ground. Experiencing childhood a second time (as a parent) has reawakened my imagination in a nirvana sort of way and given me good reason to play hide-and-seek and wish on dandelions once again. Creativity began to flow and the shop began to bloom.
Wishes & Wildflowers Children's Clothing has brought me full circle; encompassing everything I'm passionate about. With a lot of watering, it has grown into a family adventure (which I also love). We’ve set out to capture the spirit of childhood and inspire all of you through the dandelion on our handmade clothing. Our social networks are dedicated to providing you with inspiration for keeping your little ones outside with their hands dirty and their gears turning. We love connecting with your family in this way.
Go where the wind takes you & grow wildly! Our clothes are ready for the journey and are meant to be keepers of your fondest memories.
Thanks so much for reading,

Creator, Dress Maker
Hello, mamas! I'm Kate! My sewing began years ago & has become a playground for the artist in me. I aspired to be a costume designer growing up. Now, I'm making "costumes" for the greatest actors of all time- your imaginative, free-spirited children.
Hi, I'm Daniel! My passion is in photography. I taught myself because I want to treasure Penelosaurus growing up. I love bringing my camera everywhere we go for photo shoots and seeing her play in our clothing. We'll have these memories forever.
And here she is-Penelosaurus! Say hi! She earned her nickname early on for her larger than life, fiery personality! Full of spunk and love, she charms everyone around her when we go to ship your orders. Your package is sent with a smile and a hug.

It was wrapped in tissue paper and a very thoughtful note by Kate was inside. You could tell by the wrapping that she is a very creative person and is willing to give time to the outside wrapping of the product as well as the product itself.
