New base in stock! "Crayon" is a sock yarn made of 85% superwash merino and 15% colored NEP. It's tweed, but RAINBOW tweed!
Mini skein sets of popular colorways are now available! They're a great way to try out a lot of colors at once, and are perfect for scrappy projects.
Update with restocked favorites and a few non-repeatable colorways! Grab them if you like them, because they are one- or two-of-a-kind!

With Pointed Sticks Hand Dyed Yarn - Color to Write Home About

I started knitting when I was 13 years old, when my grandparents gave me a Teach-Yourself-to-Knit kit for my birthday. I started in right away, and promptly got frustrated, threw the plastic needles and acrylic yarn at the wall, and didn't return to the craft for another four years.

Once I started up again, purely on a whim, I never put my needles back down (I also never threw them at any walls again, but I can't promise that will NEVER happen, because come on. Who can make that kind of promise?).

My interest in dyeing yarn also began on a whim. I found a pack of Wilton's cake dyes on sale and decided to try my hand at dyeing. A few skeins in, I was hooked, and invested in professional grade acid dyes and quality yarn bases.

My current focus is on low-immersion dyeing, and variegated and semi-solid tonal colors. I take custom orders, and if there's something you'd like to see in the shop, please don't hesitate to drop me a line and let me know!

Additional policies and FAQs
All yarn is dyed using professional-grade acid dyes and treated with citric acid in order to maintain colorfastness. Minor bleeding is normal when first washing a finished garment. I recommend either washing the finished garment by itself the first time, or including a Color Catcher in the wash. Yarns marked as superwash can be machine-washed and dried flat. Non-superwash yarns should be hand washed and dried flat only. For best results, I recommend hand washing all garments made from any base.

Because yarn is dyed in very small batches, each skein is unique. Variations are to be expected, and if you are using more than one skein, I recommend alternating skeins in your project. Yarn is dyed in a smoke-free, cattle dog-friendly environment.

All efforts are taken to make sure photos accurately represent the yarn. However, computer monitors differ, and the color may vary in person from what you see on the scree.

Unfortunately I am unable to accept custom orders at this time.

Yarn is dyed in a smoke-free, dog-friendly environment. The dog does not go near the yarn, however I cannot guarantee products will be free of dog hair. Hair moves, baby. Please be advised is allergies are a concern.
