5 out of 5 starsThe patch is beautifully made, and exactly as it looks in the photos. It arrived soon after I purchased it.
I had to change my mailing address, and the shop was easy to get ahold of and responded very quickly.
Thanks! -

Transferring image from block on to paper.
Hand carved designs from nature.
I was commissioned to illustrate a book about endangered species of Southwestern Colorado years ago & realized that block printing would translate well. I studied block printing in school and always loved it so I dove back into this ancient method of printing.
Before I opened my shop I travelled to India & studied their traditional techniques using natural dyes.
I started out hand printing cards which I sell wholesale nationwide currently. Basically, the process involves hand carving an image out of linoleum block or wood, then hand mixing inks, rolling the ink with a brayer on to the surface of the block, soaking heavyweight printing paper, blotting it and then registering the paper with the block. I transfer the image with a marble rolling pin by hand.
I prefer hand printing because I can edit the colors and am not stuck with thousands of cards in the same color.
