About

A funny little bookstore and more

I have divergent tastes, but it all makes sense to me. I especially love the 1920's and a lot of my items show art nouveau, arts and crafts movement and art deco influences. But I also am quite fond of sassy, quirky or downright odd items from all eras. That is what you'll find here in my little Etsy nook. Think of it as being like Clara Bow and Lyle Lovett on a date.

One side of my shop contains wonderful pieces of rustic, industrial, or farmhouse decor. The wear, the patina, and the soul in these items are simply amazing.

But I'm constantly on the hunt for those beautiful, endangered little gems known as illustrated books from the early to mid 20th century. They are marvelous bits of history on so many levels -- artistic, cultural and educational -- and they are wildly imaginative and beautiful.

I live in Nebraska with my husband and our dogs and cats, who occasionally show up in some of my listings. And not surprisingly, I do like to watch old movies and listen to Lyle Lovett.

I love art, I love books, I love funny, I love quirky, and somehow it turned into an Etsy shop.

Payment
For your convenience, in addition to PayPal, I am now accepting credit cards directly through Etsy.

I will reserve items for no more than 48 hours unless you've made other arrangements with me. If you do not purchase the item within 48 hours, or within the agreed-upon amount of time, I will remove the reserve.

Please convo me if you'd like to put something on layaway and we can work out a payment schedule. If you default on a layaway, I will retain 15% of the item cost as a restocking fee.
Shipping
I use delivery confirmation via USPS or FedEx on all domestic orders. Shipping costs vary, and I will work with you to determine what works the best, based upon your budget and how soon you want to receive the item.

Items shipped by Priority Mail or FedEx will be insured through the carriers. If an item is sent via First Class Mail or Parcel Post, I insure items using the U-Ship insurance that is provided by Etsy.

Larger, heavier items are typically shipped via FedEx.

Jewelry buyers: I will ship internationally IF your country does not have a customs restriction.
Refunds and Exchanges
My store is a vintage shop and I do rather exhaustive descriptions of the condition of each item, because when a purchase is done online, you can't pick up an item and look it over thoroughly. Please look at the descriptions to know what you're getting -- I know they are lengthy, but that's done for your benefit.

Many of my books are over 50 years old, and it goes without saying that there are variances in vintage printing standards from today's digital world. If you want something that is of crisp, bright, digitally-enhanced quality, you are probably better served locating a contemporary reprinting.

If there is an issue regarding damage or a gross misrepresentation of condition, please convo me within 72 hours of receiving the item so we can discuss options. In these instances, I ask that you send me photos of the item and the shipping material as you received it. If a return is agreed upon, I require that it be shipped no later than 72 hours after we've agreed to the return.
