Stitching Tales, Carving Dreams

My way to stitching was really long. When a while ago I started making THINGS I was far from creating my embroidered heirloom plushies.

I learned languages in college and worked a little as an interpreter and translator, but suddenly found myself being a full time crafter for over a year by the time I opened Woodland Tale.

Making things is something I always did since my childhood, my Grandma taught me crocheting, embroidery, stitching and mending clothes. I learned to knit myself in homage to my Mom, who did amazing things with yarns and knitting needles. Later I worked in a crafts and hobby shop and I learned how to use many things like paints, mediums on various types of paper and other surfaces.

But what captured me totally was making embroidered critters. I make with love my stitched ones, and I hope you can feel it every time my creation appears in you hands.

The idea that something I did by hand can make someone smile hundreds miles away - what an awesome reward!

Our stamps were introduced in 2014, when Eugen started carving them of rubber - first, for our packaging and paper goods - later for sale.

We are in UKRAINE, Eastern Europe! We offer flat-rate postage (combine shipping) for all items - so, adding to your cart multiple items is still cost effective.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Returns and exchange details
If a customer is unhappy with the purchase it may be returned for a full refund.

After the item has been returned, the original purchase price will be refunded to the customer via PayPal

Customers are responsible for the cost of shipping the item back.
At the moment we can only accept PayPal.

We take custom orders for stamps only. We do not take wholesale orders at the moment.
The packages are mailed via international registered airmail from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine.

If there is a deadline (any special occasion), please, contact us before ordering to see if we can adjust ourselves to your situation.
THE STAMPS by Eugen. Our stamps are usually shipped within 1-3 business days, if other not specified. For custom stamps we have to send you a proof before start carving. Usually, a proof sent within 24 hours on receiving an order. If a customer does not respond to our convos and emails, the processing time is extended by 7 days. If by the end of this timeframe we won't hear from you, a custom order is cancelled. Please, make sure you check you messages/email to see a note from us.

THE PLUSHIES by Kate. My one-of-a-kind embroidered critters are shipped within 1-2 business days.

Most of my softies are currently made to order and sometimes I have more than 1 order underway, that's why I have to increase the turnaround time to 7 days starting the day of your purchase, especially if you buy more than 1 item. If I manage to finish your plush earlier I send it as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding.

I do not commission any embroidered softies on request, but a few personalized listings are available (like pet portraits, personalizes hanging ornaments, minor changes in color of embroidery).

I don't do wholesales at the moment.

PLEASE NOTE! I ship to the address listed in the Etsy invoice. If you need an item sent to a third party, or another address, have a typo in the address lines - please contact me as soon as you can so I can settle the issue.

Please, be patient about the shipping time, especially from Ukraine to the New Zealand and Australia, it can take several weeks. Especially around holidays when the customs offices are busy. Your understanding is truly appreciated!

We send all orders as a small package (petite paquet) which means the postman will come to your door and give it to you personally and you will sign for it. If you won't be at home at that moment, they will leave you a notice to pick up a mail piece from the post office. I'm sorry if it sounds a little bit too complicated, but sometimes the those notices are lost in other mail and the addressee doesn't know that something is waiting to be picked up at the post office. So, please, keep an eye on your mail box.

Upon shipment, you will receive an email with your tracking information and a link which will allow you to track your shipment. Please be aware that any delays incurred by the carrier is at their discretion and not at the discretion of Woodland Tale. If the carrier decides that your package needs to be picked up at the post office rather than delivered to your door - this is at their discretion as well and not at the discretion of Woodland Tale. You must make the trip and pick up your package. The carrier will generally give you a week to two weeks to pick up the item being held at the post office and will leave a note on your door. If a note is not left, you can find out where your item is by looking up your tracking number which is e-mailed to your inbox.
If a customer missed the package and it was returned to us, we can either offer a partial refund (excluding shipping fee spent on sending the item) or re-send the package after the customer pays for return postage.

SPECIAL NOTE to US buyers: After the pandemic broke we switched our shipping method from Ukraine to the US to a consolidation shipping. The consolidation shipping company accepts our packages to the US and ships them from Ukraine with DHL direct cargo flight to its warehouse in Feasterville-Trevose, PA. Packages then are being distributed through the USPS to the end addressees. The consolidation service claims that they deliver packages from Ukraine to the final destination in the US within 5-7 days after the package is accepted by USPS. Since the package is still shipped from Ukraine and has to be first transported across the ocean, I would rather aim at around 10-15 day delivery. IMPORTANT: Tracking information for your package will be updated twice – first, with the tracking number that indicates movement of the package from us to the warehouse in Ukraine. And the second tracking number will be the one from USPS, and you will be able to track it with USPS online tracking tool.

Custom and personalized orders

THE STAMPS by Eugen. Custom stamps available on request. We do not commission any designs, but can carve a stamp based on our existing imprints or your own image if available.

Why the shipping cost for your stamps is so high?

We ship from Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine (Eastern Europe). The price for International Registered Air Mail shipment includes:

- Postal charge, providing full tracking all way from Ukraine and all over the world;
- shipping supplies (envelope, wrapping, and an individual handmade match-box packaging for the order);
- handling costs and shipping risks - like lost, or stolen, or damaged items - if proved (which is easy as we have tracking), we provide either a refund or replacement and take all shipping expenses.

Shipping cost for multiple items is the same for either 1 or 60 stamps, so you can save on multiple item purchase.

The shipping cost is far from being low but at the moment it is the only secure way for us to ship internationally.
