Welcome to Wool Candy! I hope you like what you see.

Much of my color inspiration comes from the world closest to me, in my physical surroundings and in my sense memories. For me, smells and sounds are evocative of times and experiences past, and somehow food holds the strongest sense memories of all. Food is culture, and family, and sound and smell. Food is social, it is representative of gathering loved ones and new friends around me for shared experiences. Is it any wonder, then, that much of my color inspiration comes from memories of meals past?

Hand Dyed Yarns, in fingering and sport weights, are layered with many colors, one over another to achieve the perfect, luminous and dimensional shade. The relatively random nature of this layering means that the colors WILL NOT POOL.

Each skein of handspun is unique in the world, with it's own character and charm. Handspun yarn is spun from rovings handpainted by me, using the same layering techniques I use to dye my yarns.

Linen and cotten drawstring project bags are the perfect size to tote a small knitting project. Each bag is hand-embroidered with Sashiko style stitching, and decorated with whimsical appliques.

Convo me if you have any questions, or if you would like to work with me on a custom order. I look forward to hearing from you.

Keep up with my yarny adventures and shop updates by subscribing to my blog! http://www.woolcandy.com/blog

Accepted payment methods

Payment
I only accept payment through Paypal at this time.

The Fine Print: Payment is due within 3 days of purchase, or the sale will be cancelled and the item relisted.

Sales tax of 9.25% will be added to all orders shipping within California. The sales tax will be calculated and added to the order by Paypal.
Shipping
I ship Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Orders placed Friday through Sunday will ship on Monday. Orders placed by 3pm Pacific time often ship the same day. Orders placed after 3pm will ship the following business day.

Packages sent within the United States ship U.S. Postal Service.

Small orders of 1 or 2 skeins will ship First Class Mail, which includes delivery confirmation. $2, for the first skein, $1 if shipped with an additional item. Small orders can be upgraded to Priority Mail for a small additional fee.

Larger orders of 3 or more skeins are automatically upgraded to Priority Mail, which includes order tracking.

Packages sent to Canada ship First Class for $3, or $1.50 if shipped with another item.

I will happily upgrade to Priority International Mail upon request, and will send you an updated invoice.

Please note that any taxes or duties incurred on international orders are the responsibility of the buyer. Taxes and duties are not included in the cost of shipping. Also, once the package leaves my hands, it is out of my control. I cannot be responsible for packages lost in the mail. Thanks!
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be 100% happy with the yarn and fiber you purchase from me. If, for some reason, you are unhappy, send me an email within 7 days of your item's receipt, and I would be happy to offer an exchange or refund, minus the cost of shipping. You will have to foot the bill for return shipping and shipping for any exchanged items, I'm afraid.

I'm sorry, but yarn that has been wound into center pull balls, or has been knit with is not returnable. Fiber must be in it's original condition, not split or spun at all.
Additional policies and FAQs
A Note about Photography:

I do re-use photographs. Though each skein is unique, I take careful notes to re-produce colorways that I fall in love with. If a skein from a new lot is very different from previous lots, I will take new photographs.

Also, please note that I do my absolute best to reproduce colors as accurately as possible, but your monitor could be different from mine. Thanks!

About the Yarn:

Our house is completely and utterly smoke-free, but I have a silly happy dog and a cranky grumpy cat. They aren't allowed to roll around in the yarn or anything, but they do have free range around the house. The yarn and fiber are kept in sealed plastic bags in large tubs, but I just put this out there in case you find a stray white hair, or have animal sensitivities.

Custom Orders:
All of the colorways offered here can be custom dyed in any of the base yarns I carry -- if you like a colorway and only see it offered in BonBon Bamboo, but you'd rather have it in Marzipan Merino, please convo me and I would be happy to custom dye it for you. Additionally, if you would like more than one skein in a particular colorway, contact me and I will custom dye multiple skeins for you. I am usually able to turn around custom orders within 2 weeks from dyeing through shipping.

If you fall in love with a handpainted fiber, but aren't a spinner yourself, I would (of course!) encourage you to learn to spin because it's FANTASTICALLY fun and relaxing. In the meantime, if you are as impatient as me, I would be happy to spin the fiber for you. The price of the yarn would then be comparable to the price of other handspun yarns offered in the shop. I calculate the price of my handspun yarn in a formula based on the cost of fiber plus a cost per yard. Please allow up to two weeks from the time of your order for me to spin your yarn and send it off to you.

Yarn Winding:

I would be happy to wind your skeins into neat little center pull balls for you as a complimentary service. If you would like me to do so, please make a note of this in the Order Comments section at the time of your order. Please note that yarn wound into balls is not returnable.

Wholesale Inquiries: I welcome wholesale inquiries from brick and mortar or online shops -- thank you for your interest! Convo me, or email me at adrienne [at] woolcandy [dot] com, and I will be happy to email you a wholesale packet.
