5 out of 5 starsI am wearing them now. So very thick and warm, forget flimsy icebreaker leggings forever! I got the fold over waist band which is a nice soft fabric and keeps my torso even warmer. The spruce is a dark green, like a spruce tree in shadows. Perfect for the pacific northwest damp, and my indoor camping cabin. I want more.

5 out of 5 starsThese leggings are my new favorites. I run cold and am always putting on more layers, but they are warm enough that just worn by themselves I am comfortable. The merino is so soft and thick, it just brings me joy to feel. Kate was quick to answer all my questions and very helpful, including catching a mistake in my measurements! The fit is just right and the quality is excellent. Very happy - thanks so much!

Inspiration can come from anywhere. It's always good to remember where you came from and where you're going.
The Evolution of Woolen Moss
Wanting to do something more meaningful and sustainable after years of sewing for the high end home interior industry, I established Woolen Moss in 2009. I began by making clothing from all natural materials for myself and realized I could do the same for others through Etsy.
My love of wool goods began with the start of Woolen Moss Farm in 2006. The vision of raising all my own wool from the sheep on my own farm evolved into a pursuit of relationships with other wool growers and textile producers, sourcing only high quality wool fabrics for my clothing.
Knowing that conventional cotton is the most highly sprayed crop in the world, I also began carrying organic cotton fabrics blended with bamboo for summer garments. This step propelled me into a year round thriving handmade clothing business.
As there is controversy about the use of bamboo in fabrics, I am happy to address this issue with you upon request. I have done a vast amount of research on this, and it is my conclusion that the pros far outweigh the cons when considering it's impact on the planet, on mill workers, and on the wearer. Please feel free to inquire if you'd like my two cents.
Today Woolen Moss continues to be a small operation. Being a good steward of your planet means taking good care of yourself too. The idea behind Woolen Moss is that feeling good and looking good are tied together. I believe that moving freely, feeling good about who you are and "being the change you wish to see in the world" can all start with taking good care of yourself and your family. Good, clean, flattering garments are a lovely way to start.

Shop policies
Hello, and welcome to Woolen Moss! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll find just the right piece of clothing right here. All of my items are made to order. Please specify size according to the chart or provide measurements for your unique body size and shape.
MATERIALS
All of my clothing is made from either merino wool or an organic cotton/bamboo blend. The merino wool is fabulously soft and available in a heavy weight, a mid weight fabric, or a light weight fabric. If cared for properly, your garments could last a lifetime and therefore add to the cycle of waste as little as possible. Take good care of yourself and your clothing too!
SIZING
When ordering, a general size can be chosen from the chart listed with each item, but more specific measurements will ensure the best fit. The following is a list of measurements and how to take them:
HEIGHT ~ head to toe
BUST ~ at the widest point, over your bra, not your bra size
WAIST ~ just above the hip bones, or where you like your garment to rest
HIPS ~ the widest point
INSEAM ~ from the crotch seam to the bottom hem
ARM ~ from the shoulder seam to your wrist hem
BICEP ~ around your upper arm
SHOULDER ~ shoulder to shoulder across your back
MULTIPLE ITEM ORDERS
Most of my pieces can be ordered in multiples, or in different colors unless I specify something is one-of-a-kind. Shipping is automatically discounted upon checkout.

Shipping
I ship all items USPS First Class or Priority depending on package weight. It usually takes 2-5 business days within the US, and any where from 5-15 business days internationally (depending on your customs procedures). If you need something sooner, contact me and generally we can work something out.
Each package comes with $50 insurance. Once the package has safely left my hands, and been checked into the post office, any shipment and delivery issues should be taken up with your local USPS office. Please see your local office on how to file a claim in the case of a lost package.
I ship world-wide. Please note that all taxes, duties and customs fees associated with international shipping are the responsibility of the buyer.
