Quality buttons. Very well made!

These are gorgeous. Beautiful work!
It all started with a set of buttons...
It all started with a set of buttons that Jeff (my husband) made for fun. With the attention they received, he made another set. Then had requests for more. The requests just kept coming and he just kept making them, and that's how he started making buttons. (I should also add that he became a woodworker because it was the material we happened to have on hand.) I must say, Jeff makes some truly amazing buttons! (I know you think I'm biased since we're married and all, but seriously, they are works of art.)
To make our handmade buttons, Jeff and I pass them back and forth between us, for the different stages. He starts with gorgeous wood, which he seems to attract into our lives like a magnet. After marking and slicing the wood, Jeff sands and polishes them (a long process with spectacular results!). I mark the button holes. Jeff drills them. I organize them in families and tie them on cards, and then photograph them and post them in the shop. They're so unique and I think the high quality really shines through. We adore our buttons. They have a certain magic and when you feel them in your hands, you'll know what we mean.
My very favorite part is seeing our buttons on your creative projects. It's the best. I smile every time I see one of your newest creations. (I should mention that there are three different ways to share your projects with WoolyMossRoots Buttons: on Ravelry, on Instagram & on Facebook.)
Our knitting customers requested shawl pins, so Jeff started making those as well. In addition to buttons and shawl pins, you'll find cedar garden & homesteading signs, sustainable wood jewelry, and herbal salves made with organic herbs from our garden. I make a wooly creation for the shop from time to time, and I love knitting and always have a project going on the needles. (And yes, the large majority of my knitting projects include buttons!)
We work from home and when we're not working for our family business, we're busy on our small homestead. We value spending our days together as a family. We love creating with our hands. We spend as much time as we're able to in the garden, always striving to produce more of our own food. When you buy from our shop, you are supporting our dream and we are so very grateful!

We like to ship through Priority Mail for several reasons. One is that it's flat rate, so no matter how much you order, you will only be charged one shipping charge, which we think is pretty great. Also, it gets to you quickly! Thirdly, the flat box keeps button cards protected. If we ship buttons in a padded envelope, the buttons will be fine but the button cards can get quite crinkled. That being said, if you would prefer to save money on shipping and not pay for priority shipping, please send us a message *before* you order. We can make a special listing for you with different shipping charges.
We are often asked how long it takes for international shipping. It depends on the country, and even then it varies, so we cannot say. (A customer in Australia just told us they got their package in less than two weeks.)
