About

Small woodworking school in Austin, TX.

'wortheffort'' is a small woodworking school in Texas started by one of the thousands of Technology Teachers let go by the district and state in the latest recession. We currently teach hand tool and turning classes to the home-school, after-school, and adult community out of a little office warehouse in central Austin.

Originally started in San Marcos, TX with the retirement and savings of a school teacher the school recently successfully campaigned on IndieGoGo to raise the funds needed to relocate to Austin, TX.

During the past years we've been selling our wares, the type of items we teach students to make at the school, at various farmers markets, artist markets, street corner pop-up shops, and juried events. All to support the school in it's start-up years. You might of seen us anywhere in central Texas demonstrating woodturning or furniture making live in our 10x10 tent. This online store is an extension of that effort.

To see what you are supporting with your purchase I encourage you to search 'wortheffort woodworking' in your favorite search engine to see not only our work but the smiles on our students faces as they learn lifelong skills.
