Frequently asked questions

Where do you gather the items offered in your shop?

Each item in my shop is carefully selected by me according to the item's uniqueness and natural beauty.

Most of the pine cones offered in my shop are gathered by me on our privately owned plot of mountain land in Central Wyoming. All of the pine cones are gathered after they have naturally fallen from their tree.

There may be certain pine cone listings in the future that consist of cones found on vacation trips here and there. The location will always be listed in the descriptions.

Do you clean the pine cones and other natural items?

Yes. All of my pine cones are carefully washed to remove most of debris and dirt. However, it's hard to get it all off. Just consider any extra dirt and debris "free of charge." :)

Are your pine cones insect free?

Yes. I sanitize the pine cones and other items by baking them at a low temperature so as to rid the items of live insects and other unwanted creatures making their home within the cracks and crevices.

Where do you find the animal bones featured in your shop?

All of the animal bones featured in my shop are found in nature during hikes on our mountain property or hikes in other natural settings.

How are the bones featured in your shop cleaned and made ready to sell?

I clean all of the bones first by spraying with water and then soaking in a hydrogen peroxide/water solution for eight hours or longer. This process is for sanitizing only. Any additional desired whiteness of bones is the responsibility of the buyer.
