Kite String and Dental Floss Blankets
When I was young, 9 years old or so, my grandmother tried to teach me crochet. She was amazing at it, making entire bedspreads out of what looked like kite string or dental floss. I definitely mastered the chain stitch, and even enough of single and double crochet to make a pot holder, but that learning was soon forgotten, and I figured crochet just wasn’t for me. Fast forward to just a year or two ago, and I decided I needed something to keep my hands busy and my face out of my phone. Crochet seemed like a great choice, and thanks to YouTube, I think I enjoy it as much as my grandmother did. I’m certain she’s smiling down on me (and laughing a lot) as she watches me work my way toward kite string and dental floss bedspreads.
