Okay, so... I went and bought another beautiful pincushion that I don't want to use because I don't want to ruin it. I use it anyway, only because I kind of have to. Went and destroyed my horrible tomato, so... (Then, I used its soft pillow-y stuff that came in the box with it in order to stuff a terribly made pincushion. It is so terribly made! I'm an embroiderer, not a hand-sewer. But, still!) My moth likes to stay in one place. Kind of a diva. So there's a little ugly pincushion (so badly sewn!) in my sewing box to travel with. It came with such pretty (and sorely needed) pins. They are just lovely, and my moth loves to wear them. (All my inanimate objects have personalities, okay?) It arrived quicker than expected from all the way over there. Darn word limit. So much more to say! Pretty, well-made, here quick, love it!
Buttons and patches and the cold wind blowing, the days pass quickly when I am sewing.
Welcome to Wychbury Designs, I'm Paula Perrins and I have been working as a designer-maker since 2004. Originally from Kidderminster I moved to West Yorkshire in 1994 and now live and work in Bingley, a small but perfectly formed town in the beautiful Aire Valley. This area is steeped in a rich history of textiles and industry with Sir Titus Salt's model village and World Heritage Site, Saltaire at its heart.
All of my pieces are individually designed and handmade by me in my workshop - or anywhere in my home I feel like! My work is inspired by my love of fabrics and sewing and my fascination with historical domesticity, the bygone age when ladies wore hats and gloves, when we threw much less away and when women's skills with a needle and thread sustained comfort and beauty in the home.I love to work with silk flowers, vintage buttons, lace trims and all forms of haberdashery to make my collections of wearable pincushions, floral accessories and jewellery with the nostalgic, romantic feel of days gone by.
Owner, Maker, Designer
Paula likes sewing, vintage haberdashery and Victoriana, this is very apparent in the things thas she designs and makes. She lives on a canal bank in West Yorkshire and has been messing about with bits of fabric all her life.
